Kiku Sushi & Bubble Tea — Restaurant in East Staffordshire

I hate leaving negative reviews but I cannot stand rude people. The sushi was great. Fresh and delicious but the service threw us off

We came in today, were served by a young girl who was incredibly rude and shouldn’t work in a position if you can’t speak to people with respect.

First of all, we had a two year old with us running around (not his fault) she came up to us and said “ummm you can’t be back here” in a rude tone, we know we can’t go that way but we have a two year old child with us who does not know that, of course we have to try to catch him.

Then we were standing there waiting to order, one girl was just on her phone right infront of us, the other girl was just blatantly ignoring the fact that we were waiting there ready to order!!! Sure texting while working is fine but when there’s someone waiting for your service?

We ordered one bubble tea. The cost was £3 something. She told us it was £7 something. I asked politely why one Bubble tea is £7. She told us we asked for 2. When I said no just one please, the lady said “ummm but you said 2”

Then after we were done ordering the lady told us “go stand over there”

Why would people want to spend money at a place where they’re treated negatively and receive rude service?

This place would have amazing potential as it’s the first sushi place in burton; however, I think the rude staff will let...

Whoever is working in the kitchen is saving this business as the food was great. I had salmon sashimi and it was cut into the right thickness and it was fresh. Also had a really nice karage and salmon roll that I think there was a bit too much mayo, but still ok. Now about customer service it was absolutely horrendous. Teenagers talking nonsense and on their phone at all time instead of paying attention to the customers if they're ready to order. There was a confusion with the orders (I ordered takeaway) and they gave me the wrong order, ran after me on the street to let me know about the error, not even an apology or anything, I had to wait another 10 minutes and the blonde Teenage couldn't even take the order and give that to me. I had to get up and pick it from the counter. Staff needs to be trained better, I understand they're young but it doesn't justify the poor customer service from...

Burton is sorely lacking in decent places to eat, so I'm super happy that Kiku has opened up. Popped in today for the first time and bought a small selection of nigiri sushi. All of it was delicious - great rice and the fish was very fresh. The tuna was especially good quality - melt in the mouth! Very clean and nice inside with friendly staff. I ordered a cold peach green tea as well and that was superb. There's loads of classic Japanese dishes available apart from sushi - katsu curry, miso soup, chicken teriyaki, ramen.... Going to go back tomorrow to try the takoyaki (battered octopus balls) and chicken yakitori. So happy you're here Kiku! I suggest everyone tries something here - there's loads of options if you don't...
