Nando's Burton Upon Trent — Restaurant in East Staffordshire

Came for dinner last night as a treat, and whilst our food was lovely and the lady who took our order was lovely, our evening was ruined by a selection of staff members on shift.

Soon as we sat down a man working in the kitchen and a couple young servers were congregating in the doorway to the kitchen staring in our direction and laughing, whispering to one and other. This went on , on and off consistently for 20 minutes.

Now as we found out at the end of the night from the Manager they knew someone sitting behind us, but regardless we had no idea what was going on. Just our first impression as soon as we sat down was, 2 or 3 staff members staring at us and laughing. Regardless who they are laughing, staring and pointing at , to act this way for a good 20 minutes when they're other people in the restaurant was very unprofessional.

We felt very self conscious, and awkward and unfortunately left their shift before we could point them out to the manager. Whilst the manager was apologetic, it still ruined our evening. Having a person out with us who struggles with anxiety and eating in public places, this entire experience with those staff members left us feeling very uncomfortable and we won't be returning to...

Awful experience. Visited restaurant as a foursome, ordered food together, 2 mains came, then nothing, nothing. Our friends had ate their meal, still nothing. Tried to ask a waiter for assistance, wasnt interested, made my way up to counter to complain, spoke to manager and was told she couldn't control which meals come out in which order. I was flabbergasted, raised my voice to express disgust. got my money back and sat back down for friends to finish their drinks. 15 mins later THE POLICE ARRIVED, POLICE VAN, POLICE CAR , 4 OFFICERS to escort me from premises. They had been told that I was causing a Public Order Offence. Broken Ice machine, Broken Yoghurt machine, Torn seats, horrible service. Sorry but nando's only appeal to younger generation who don't give a damn about quality of service, poor surroundings. All 4 of us are over 50 years old. We have had the pleasure of dining here tonight (Tuesday 7th November 2023). We were greeted by a friendly member of staff, Lilly and were seated, ready to order our food. Once our order was placed, it came to light that there was not enough chicken to go round and so we were quickly approached by the manager Chelsea. She made sure that we would be taken care of and so she asked what we would like to have instead to make up for the "missing" piece of chicken.

We were very pleased that she used her intuition, professional manner as well as kind and approachable nature and we were served with food of our choice.

The food here is very tasty and staff are eager to cook, always bearing in mind any allergens for the safety of the customer.
