Popped in for lunch, looked like a dog care home. Very crowded noisy and you have to watch your steps to avoid dogs. Food was average. Was hoping to enjoy the fireplace but the fire was dead. We have asked the hosts 3 times to add some logs to the fire. They have happily accepted to help us but nothing happened while we were there.
Editing to answer the host's response: Our aim was to enjoy the fireplace so we had a look first if a table by the fireplace was available, it was not. Then, we had a stroll around and came back and luckily found a table by the fireplace. I cannot remember myself demanding a table or thinking/saying silly things like we are above all other people. There was no intention of being abrupt or rude. This is just your personal perception and I cannot do anything about it, we are coming from different backgrounds. Also please remember there was a person with an average sized dog blocked the entrance for about half an hour also moved around the hall a lot. Even you had to ask them to vacate an idle table since they were not using it. There is a difference between being a dog friendly pub and allowing people with dogs being a nuisance to other people.
Your comment about scampi is weird, is it not allowed to rate scampi?
If you know another cafe/pub with fireplace in Framlingham feel free to recommend it, I'd...
Read moreVery disappointed after going here for lunch for the first time. My meal was missed somehow. Thankfully it was a salad so only took a few minutes to make whilst the rest of the table ate. When it did arrive it was the most disappointing chicken ceasar salad I've ever had. It looked like the chef had been to Tesco for some pre prepped salad out of a bag with a heap of pre packaged ceasar salad topping dumped on top. £11 for something a child could have prepared. The chicken pie was all pastry and no filling and so dry an entire jug of gravy was needed to make it edible, served with 8 chips on the side. The children's portion of Chicken goujons were over cooked and the turkey roast dinner another diner had tasted like it had been cooked the day before as it was so dry. Apparently the chicken burger and scampi were nice. However we left after 1 drink and our meals and went to the co-op for a dessert to eat at home. Will be trying the other pubs in the area instead...
Read moreAwful experience. Stopped in for lunch after visiting the castle. Ordered two roast belly of pork dinners and a dessert for our daughter. Not a cheap roast at £10.95 each. The food was served luke warm, the plate was taken up by a large gravy boat and the portion was very small. The pork was rubbery with no nice crackling. The people next to us ordered the same two roasts and theirs came completely differently. Plates steaming, full to the brim with a different selection of vegetables including apple sauce and swede and a separate gravy boat for the two of them not on the plate like ours. We complained to the waitress who had no clue. She said the chef had just finished the veg!! Then came back and offered us a bowl of swede but we had finished. Spoke to the manager who was a vile obnoxious man who offered to give us a bowl of swede or a £1 refund. I was disgusted I have never had an experience like this before and it ruined our...
