I am giving Café Joon a review having met and spoken to Heidi, the owner who says she wants to create a community hub. A place to go that is welcoming and nourishing in body and mind. A home. From home.
Café Joon at its core is a Tea bar. The owner has conducted extensive research into the health benefits of tea. The menu presents a series of tea combinations that will: make you feel like a goddess - GLOW; focus the mind - FOCUS; open the heart - LOVE; banish aches and pains INFLAMMATION BE GONE. To name few. I had Glow which was presented in a glass pot with a distinctive glass receptacle on its own little glass tray. It's very good value at £3.40 and mine was a combination of White tea, Rose, Chamomile, Lemon balm and Mint. In addition to Tea there is an interesting selection of things to eat. Maybe next time.
I should add that the premises is very tastefully designed to give that relaxing feeling of Home with a Persian twist (rugs/words). There is lots of wood and places to sit. Downstairs is another large space .. for the Book club, the sketching club, the Yoga club. You can also go running with Heidi and join her running club. Once a month there is Supper club.
I was greeted by her colleague with a nice welcoming smile when I arrived. And was allowed to stay where I was sitting outside after they had left. It is a racing certainty that I will be back. The Pastrami toastie looks very tempting. And I could do with feeling like a goddess again....

Café Joon is more than just a coffee shop—it's a creative, community-driven space full of charm. The menu celebrates Persian-inspired flavours, with beautifully spiced dishes and standout cakes that feel both comforting and unique.
The locally sourced coffee is top quality, and the vibe is perfect whether you're meeting friends or settling in with your laptop for a productive morning. It’s one of the few spots in town where working remotely actually feels like a treat.
What makes Café Joon even more special is its hidden back garden—a peaceful little sun trap when the weather’s good—and the large downstairs function area, which makes it a fantastic venue for intimate events, workshops, or community meet-ups.
If you haven’t been yet, it’s well worth a visit. This place...
