Decided to have Sunday lunch here. This place has a good location in Eastbourne, just 5 mins walk from the shopping centre, although we found free Sunday parking just a couple of mins away.
It wasn't very busy and we were seated immediately. Menu is clear and prices are reasonable, with a dish costing somewhere from £7 to £11. Our meal for 3 was just over £60, but we could easily have had a smaller lunch for less than £30 if we had wanted to.
All staff were friendly and helpful, advising on the menu when we were looking to see if they did something we had tried before in a different place. Food came quickly and was very tasty. The tempura soft shell crab claws were particularly well cooked, the sushi was fresh, held together well and the bento boxes had enough in them to satisfy as a meal in themselves.
Overall, if you like sushi or a variety of Japanese food then this is the best place in Eastbourne we've found so far and well worth a visit. If you want a cheap(ish) lunch, then a bento box with a glass of tap water will cost you less than £10 or you can get a plate of 8 sushi for...
Read moreWas a bit hard to get the staffs attention and we weren't checked on during (in their defence it's eat out help out and very very busy! We wouldn't take this as a reason to give any less stars just a helpful tip) the food was amazing and the manager (We assume he was the manager) was very nice, attentive, polite and made sure we were happy with everything while we were paying our bill. The meals and drinks came out exceptionally quick, and on top of that we arrived 30 minutes early for our booking expecting to have to wait and we were sat as soon as we arrived. Highly recommend.. also remember rice is filling and it looks like not enough until you try and eat it all. Order as you go! (Get the green Dragon roll roughly 8 big pieces). See you...
Read moreDecided to give Yoku Sushi a try for my boyfriends birthday, and I must admit, we have been wonderfully surprised not only, by the delicious food we were offered, but also by the friendly and inviting atmosphere of the place and staff. We ordered miso soup, kimchi, a sharing platter of sashimi, and two prawn katsu curry, accompanied by a delicious not only in taste, but in presentation too bottle of sake. For our dessert we ordered matcha mochi with some Japanese green tea, presented in a beautiful Japanese ceramic teapot and cups. An absolutely fantastic experience for a first time visit. Would definite recommend and planning on coming back here...
