My family were left a little bit non-plussed by the pubs near the centre of Eastborne and werent quite ready for bed whilst we were headed back for the hotel. The Hurst Arms looked a fairly impressive sight at night so we popped in for a half. Its a slightly unusual layout, with seperate rooms and plenty of space (a nice big room for pool and darts was noted). We settled at the bar and the half quickly spawned into more as various Harveys beers were sampled with useful advice from the friendly barman, who was clearly a beer enthusiast. The landlord was very friendly (and funny) and made my family feel really at home (lending my dad glasses to read the paper and giving my mum a coffee on the house when he realised she was driving and thus not drinking).
I shall be finding this place out again when I go back...

Read moreGreat local pub with lovely owners and staff, plus a fun mix of customers/locals. Good prices and range of drinks/snacks. Only downside (if you could call it that) would be the lack of a kitchen for cooked food, but they do an amazing snack buffet on Sundays. Beer garden at the front is a sun trap!
