I usually go here for the entertainment when there's live bands. They're a mixed bag so you'll find something in the lineup for you eventually, just watch their calendar. The staff are friendly and efficient, but sometimes the sheer number of people just standing by the bar taking up space makes it difficult to get served. The garden is great on a summers afternoon, especially when there's a live band on the tiny stage. 5 stars for the BBQ food in the garden, I can't comment on the pub food because I've never eaten any, but it looks good. The only downsides are the toilets (at least the male ones) which are tiny and usually very crowded, and the parking - there isn't any and it's in an old residential area with tiny roas so be prepared to park streets away and walk, or just don't drive there.

A super pub in Old Town near Motcombe park. Possibly where I had my first ever pint. As a kid the Eastbourne Bonfire Society parade came down Eldon Road. A yearly highlight. Aged about 14 / 15 we followed the parade grabbing discarded torches, until we arrived here. The Crown was mobbed and we chanced our arm, got served!!! Deric is disgusted but we were innocent 55 years ago. Still a great pub. Had a Long Man brewery Long Blond. Go through the pool room, up the stairs and you find a super beer garden.

Nice place. Wooden panelling halfway up the walls, interior painted grey, but looks good. Two rooms with wooden floors throughout. Tables and chairs were descent. Staff were friendly and polite. Music being piped through was of my era, wonderful. Tap beers and a couple of real ales available. Beer was good. Enjoyed my visit.

Even though I was born and raised in the Old Town part of Eastbourne I had never been in The Crown Pub till Saturday 27th of October 2018. Went there to meet some school friends, whom I hadn't seen since leaving school in 1978.. It was such a brilliant night, it was a bit like taking a step back in time but in a good way. The staff and regular customers were very friendly. Couldn't have wished for a better...
