Very disturbing and vulgar customer service. Shocking experience. We left this place sad and verbally abused. We have never come across such a terrible customer customer service. We went there with family and left disgusted and speechless. At first when we walked in the lady from the bar shouted "Stop where you are!"Stated very aggressively from the beginning. For the next time maybe: " Please wait for one moment to be seated. I will be with you shortly" would be a better way of allocating your guests? The lady was running around and complaining she has no staff, that they are on lunch, didn't come to work etc. Not really professional but ok she did apologise. Then it only got worse. Pizza was avarage but edible, however parmiggiana pinsa was soeked in smelly oil and lacking in flavour. We politely let know the waitress (unless she's a manager) that this dish is not nice. I Know it's hard to receive constructive feedback but that is the part of working in hospitality. Good chefs and waitresses appreciate all positive and negative feedback. The outcome of this was unacceptable. She was raising her voice and aggressively arguing with us in polish. Arrogantly asking if we even been to Italy? That this is how it suppose to taste. SHe vulgarly said: " I can't wide open my legs to make you happy!". We have never had anyone talking to us like this. What kind of language is that... Simple-"So sorry to hear you didn't like it, next time we will do our best to improve your experience ." The minimum you can do to make you customer service at least nice. Extremely negative energy. When we said her customer service is not good, she said that from the beginning we were not happy with picking a table and complaining 😄🤔No idea what was that about? We just asked to sit ourltside that's it. She was so busy with few tables and so frustrated that she forgot how to speak nicely to another human being. At the end ironically said "Make sure you leave a review!" And thrown aggressively the terminal on our table for us to pay....Never seen anything like this and travel around the world and eat in all different places. I Will hope you will find more light and positivity in your heart💓Treat others how you want...
Read moreWe had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Gianni's Ristorante Italiano. Not only do they serve real and authentic Italian cuisine that is both delicious and mouthwatering, but they also hold the unique title of being the first certified Pinseria in the UK. For those unfamiliar, this means they specialise in "Pinsa," a traditional Roman-style pizza known for its light, crispy base made from a special blend of flours and a long fermentation process. It’s a healthier and tastier alternative to regular pizza, and they do it to perfection here.
As a young family, we all thoroughly enjoyed the food and the warm, inviting atmosphere. The staff were lovely, especially Charlotte, who was spectacular! Her enthusiasm for her job was infectious, and despite the restaurant being busy with even a birthday group, she remained attentive and professional throughout.
The gentleman who seated us was also very pleasant it's a pity I didn't catch his name, but he had a charming little beard. I really appreciated how they accommodated my allergy concerns by seating us away from a dog, which made our experience even more comfortable.
One of the standout aspects of Gianni's is their exceptional staff. Unlike many other places that prioritise appearances over substance, Gianni’s employs mature, dedicated individuals who genuinely love their jobs. This shows in the way they treat every customer with smiles and warmth. It’s rare to find a place where everyone, from young children to older folks, feels genuinely happy and well cared for.
I highly recommend Gianni's as the best place to eat in not just Eastbourne or Brighton, but the entire UK. We'll definitely return on our next visit to the area as our first time here was made special by the wonderful team at Gianni's. Thank you all for a memorable evening!! Keep soaring!!!
PS: Unfortunately, I don’t have any photos to share as it was a tech-free night with my family, but the memories we made will...
Read more19/07/20 The vibe of the restaurant seemed welcoming and happy. Me and a friend went into the restaurant for pizza. We should have left after seeing that the staff were not wearing masks but we thought we should see how things go. A waitress came over and took our orders and she was nice and efficient. The trouble started when another waitress delivered our drinks. I asked which one was which. She said something along the lines of, "I don't know, this is probably the cappuccino", pointing at the latte glass. My friend and me tried some of the drinks with our spoons, realised that she was wrong and swapped cups. The drinks were GOOD QUALITY. As we were waiting for food, the tables were being wiped down with a wet rag and no disinfectant appeared to have been used, which is absolutely necessary during this time. The pizzas were delivered to us by the same waitress. She said that one pizza was one that I didn't order. I said that I didn't order that pizza. She replied along the lines of, "If you don't know which one is which, just split them in half and have half each". I looked at my friend absolutely gobsmacked. The waitress didn't care to check we had the right pizzas and walked off. Another waitress approached us and asked if everything was OK. We asked if we could check these were the right pizzas, and she confirmed with a good explanation, along with pointing at the ingredients about 1cm away from the pizza. She also completely broke the 1m rule and by bending down to talk to us close to our faces and we felt very unsafe and uncomfortable. The pizzas, that we decided to eat, were DELICIOUS and well worth the money. I had the Montanara pizza which had the perfect blend of ingredients and the spice really made it special. The dough was excellent too. I was just so disappointed by the LACK OF SAFETY MEASURES during a pandemic and by the awful customer service by one particular...
