Popped in yesterday with the intention of discussing with someone about offering breakfast for guests at a guesthouse owned by a client of mine a couple of streets behind which won't be serving food there for the first half of this year. I saw they were cleaning up and closing and popped in anyway to see if they had a minute to discuss. As I went in I was "greeted" with a "we're closed" by the lady mopping behind the counter. Not a "sorry, we're closed" in a nice manner. I said "that's ok, I wasn't coming in to order as such" and something on the notice board/flyers area caught my attention. I didn't reach for anything or get close enough to it before the lady shouted "if you want to put something on my shelf at least have the decency to ask". I told her "don't speak to me like that". Yes I did have some flyers in my hand, more of a contact card for the new guesthouse with contact details on in case they were too busy to chat or would like to get in touch at a later date, nothing to market it to potential guests. Well, I for one will not be recommending this cafe based on the attitude of this lady. Closing, closed or open, this is not how to speak to someone.
