Popped in yesterday with the intention of discussing with someone about offering breakfast for guests at a guesthouse owned by a client of mine a couple of streets behind which won't be serving food there for the first half of this year. I saw they were cleaning up and closing and popped in anyway to see if they had a minute to discuss. As I went in I was "greeted" with a "we're closed" by the lady mopping behind the counter. Not a "sorry, we're closed" in a nice manner. I said "that's ok, I wasn't coming in to order as such" and something on the notice board/flyers area caught my attention. I didn't reach for anything or get close enough to it before the lady shouted "if you want to put something on my shelf at least have the decency to ask". I told her "don't speak to me like that". Yes I did have some flyers in my hand, more of a contact card for the new guesthouse with contact details on in case they were too busy to chat or would like to get in touch at a later date, nothing to market it to potential guests. As if that wasn’t enough, the furniture was filthy. The table was sticky, the chairs had stains, and everything just felt unhygienic. It honestly made me question the cleanliness of the kitchen.
I left feeling sick and disappointed. There are so many better places in Eastbourne – do yourself a favour and...
Read moreVisiting family for Christmas and fancied a proper full English breakfast. Popped into this little cafe Saturday late morning and was not disappointed. Greeted with a smile and friendly hello, given menus to choose food and food order taken at table. Food was delivered quickly, was hot and very tasty. Cafe is very clean and very well priced. Hubby commented on how much better it was than the breakfast he'd recently had at another cafe in Heathfield and how it was much cheaper. Next time we are in Eastbourne and fancy some proper cafe food and service this is where we will be...
