Came across 1858 by chance on Tuesday 26th March and we are so glad we did, warm friendly welcome and a great music playlist, so onto the stunning well prepared food. We started with some Prosecco, then the Thai fish cakes which were so flavorsome and superbly presented, the Duck egg Scotch egg had the most amazing sausage meat with a crispy texture and a soft runny egg in the centre, hard to do properly but even harder to make it this good. Moving onto mains my wife had the Baked Cod Cassoulet with a huge piece of cod complimented with haricot beans and chorizo , I had the flat iron steak with french fries and a small mini pan of garlic butter. The food was from the two for £18 menu, and represented not only exceptional taste and quality but the value for money was terrific. We washed the food down with a glass of Pinot Grigio and an exceptional Argentine Malbec with the steak, the place still has a nice new feel to it and the high end glassware and cutlery certainly added to the effect, great service both from the young man and the young lady who were friendly and interested, the food arrived piping hot and on time. Given we are 140 miles round trip away we would not hesitate in visiting again and we cannot recommend this place highly enough, please give it a go , you wont be...

Myself and a few other family members (a table of 4) visited here just yesterday for the first time. My Aunt has been here previously for drinks with a couple of her friends and she highly recommended we visit for a Sunday lunch. We did just that yesterday and I have nothing but good things to say about the place! Two of us ordered the pork belly and although the size of the pork couldn't quite fill someone, the "sides" were phenomenal. We gave lots of compliments on the gravy as we couldn't quite grasp the idea that it was only meat juices. My Aunt believes they must have used marmite in there to give it a gorgeous taste. I ordered the sirloin of beef and with that came just the right amount of meat. My favourite side was either the cheesy cauliflower or the roasted potatoes. I don't understand how they can make the potatoes so crisp but so fluffy at the same time. My partner ordered the half roast chicken and the plate was practically licked clean. Our servers were Rachel and Laura and we can't thank them enough for their pleasant service. If our bellies had a little more room in them, we most likely would have gone for a dessert too. The food here is such great quality and it is definitely worth a visit! Compliments to...

Gosh, what a lovely place this is! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a stunning decor that simply elevates the dining experience to a whole new level. I'm not usually one to be swayed by ambiance, but this restaurant truly turned my head. The luxurious surroundings create a pure pleasure just being here, making it more than just a meal—it’s an experience.

And the food? Absolutely amazing. Every dish was crafted to perfection, with flavors that burst on the palate and presentation that matches the upscale atmosphere.

The staff here are also exceptional—attentive, friendly, and genuinely lovely. They anticipated our needs without being intrusive and added a warm, welcoming touch to the entire experience.

If you're looking for a place that combines beautiful surroundings, outstanding cuisine, and top-notch service, this restaurant is...

We heard of the good reviews for this place so decided to give a try ourself. We booked the table for 5 so they allocated us in the vault and it was beautiful, like we have private room just for us. We all ordered from Sunday lunch menu and we all agreed this' was the best so far for us. The foods looks beautiful and even better when it also super delicious!! Plus the portion is very generous. The service is warm, welcoming and friendly, ,especially Kim who looking after our table professionally and still friendly which not many places seem to have it now a day. We definitely going back again very soon.
