Popped into here as a little stop off before heading to the Dales and absolutely loved my experience at the Lavender Tea Rooms which is set inside and above the oldest chemist.

I had a bacon and brie melt on sun-dried tomato bread, which was toasted to perfection, the bacon thick and the brie delicious.

When ordering it was lovely to have three choices of bread to be toasted, white, wholegrain and the previously mentioned sun-dried tomato.

Accompanied with a pot of Yorkshire tea, which gave me enough for 3 cups!

The price was perfect as well with two people, drinks and food coming to under £20, obviously your experience may vary depending on what you have!

The décor of the Tea Rooms is lovely and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, the staff there are chatty.

If you're in the area, I urge you to go as this is not...

Quaint upstairs tea room. Its small but bright and cheery, staff very friendly and helpful. Toilets available, clean. We had afternoon tea for 2, at £16.95. 2 choices of sanwiches available in brown or white bread, freshly made. A choice of 1 cake each, I chose the lemon drizzle cake delicious with extra lemon drizzle in a jug, my daughter had the salted caramel cheesecake very yummy. There's 1 scone to share, they are huge! We ordered a second 1 not realising how big they would be, 1 is enough!!! We ordered a lemon and lavender scone with clotted cream and jam ....delicious. Highly recommend anyone passing by to relax and treat yourself. The food of other tables looked equally delicious sandwiches, soups, salads. Lots of people eating...

Stopped here for lunch on a misty day in October. Initially there were no tables available, so the lady kindly sat us down to wait & offered drinks whilst we waited. Once seated I ordered the homemade cheesy cauliflower & broccoli soup with a Wensleydale cheese sandwich with chutney & a side salad. The soup was so thick & warming & extremely tasty & you could definitely tell the coleslaw was homemade too. My husband had homemade sweet potato & pepper soup with crusty bread which he thoroughly enjoyed. It had definitely been worth the wait for the table, as all the food was delicious, the staff polite & friendly & I would most definitely go back again. We enjoyed our visit very...
