The Wine Bar in Kendall is an excellent place to visit on a trip to the Lake District, it’s kind of out of the way down a side street, we would not have walked past it if we didn’t do a TripAdvisor search for the best places to eat in Kendall. We were so glad we went there and will surely be back on our next trip to the lakes. The place is just beautiful, we went on a lovely sunny day and went to eat on their outdoor terrace, it’s such a beautiful place to sit and have a meal, tranquil and really well decorated, the staff even brought us out some cushions. We had a Sunday roast and some beers and everything was top notch, the roast itself was done to perfection and was very reasonably priced, the meat was particularly good. I would highly recommend the Wine Bar, it’s such a lovely place to visit and all the staff were so kind and welcoming, we will definitely be back again.

Walking along an alley way and finding this gem. Beautifully decorated, light, fresh and not too modern. Large cups of tea for one person which is very generous size. Pot for two would of given 4 cups of tea. Things I noticed, reading books for adults and children, wooden tables and chairs matching decor, stone detail which matches the small town, friendly staff. Toilet decorated in relaxed colour with plenty of facilities including nappy changing area. Showing a relaxing atmosphere šŸ‘šŸ˜Š Improvements: please remove the picture of men sitting on a steel beam American (black and white) would be nice to see something related to kendal... The step as you enter is too short for disabled customers as witnessed by myself while a person was struggling. Toilet handle screws coming loose.

this is a gem to kendal. so many nooks and crannies. 4 different areas . wether you go just for drinks or more there is a area for you. Great selection of wines and food that doesn't cost the earth. chicken burger salad chips and a quiche salad chips 23 quid . wheel chair access via ally way at back . plenty of staff to tend to your needs. I go there just to sit out in the terrace area beautifully laid out with plants and lighting to add to the ambiance. even blankets provided if it gets cold . in short a lovely place to have a few drinks and relax. when in kendal next we be making a bee line to here

Absolutely horrific!!!

We visited as a local family for a Sunday afternoon drink. The place was totally empty which in hindsight should have made us think twice before ordering. We mistakenly proceeded to order 3 mocktails, a cider and a bottle of wine. The wine was brought in a warm cooler with a few ice cubes, no water and the 80s style wine glasses had lip stick marks and other stains on. Not what is expected of a so called wine bar. We politely asked if these could be cleaned or exchanged for different glasses and were told the only option was to have the original glasses cleaned to which we agreed. After 20 minutes, the glasses hadn’t been returned to the table. A member of the party went to the bar to ask on the glasses, to find the waitress talking to her colleague and not seeing to the glasses. Finally the glasses returned but were still dirty and now dripping wet. The waitress then informed us that the dish washer wasn’t working and had therefore done them by hand. As such, we asked for the glasses to be swapped for a different style. Having finally received some clean glasses, the manager approached the table and asked us to leave as he had supposedly received two complaints from different members of staff.

A highly upsetting and dissatisfying experience made worse by staff who were rude and unaccommodating.

Really would...

Visited this place today. Had a horrible experience. The drinks was good and wasnt overly priced. Had nachos and chicken burger, the chicken wasn’t cooked, could see raw chicken inside, so I went to the staff and explained the situation. He came back and told us the chicken comes precooked and the chefs said it was fine. I couldn’t even have second bite of that burger because it was raw inside. I work in hospitality and I never try to make any complaints or reviews anywhere, but this experience really ruined my day as I was celebrating it for some good reason and I felt really bad. Anyway I came down to pay for my food and got my receipt, i was walking outside and say they charged a glass of wine with the bill and we didn’t had any wine. So came back and told him about this, he apologised and scanned my card again. Such a horrible service and carelessness. Already we had a situation and we were polite, so atleast pay some attention for your customers so u could offer better service. I’m never coming back to this place. Its an okay place for drinks, but food is really bad. Also please pay attention to...
