After a meal, my friends and I went into the horse and rainbow and played a game of pool. After the game, an employee with glasses and start tattoos on his neck came up to us and stated in an unpleasant tone âif youâre not going to buy a drink, you can get outâ. My friends and I were quite shocked by this unnecessary rudeness. We stated that we did not know we had to buy a drink to stay in the pub and he then said âthis isnât a youth centre you know where the door is so go awayâ I then tried to have a civilised conversation to defuse the situation and tried to tell him that i would have been completely fine with buying a drink if only he hadnât been so aggressive about it. He then proceeded to make talking motions with his hand in my face and said âyouâre just chatting so get outâ. Then, another male employee decided to try and gang up on my female friends and I. Before this rude interaction with the employees I thought the pub was a nice atmosphere and we enjoyed playing pool. However, there was absolutely no need to behave in the way that they did. As we were going to leave, the neck tattoo guy said âgo on get out itâs past your bed time anywaysâ it was 2 o'clock in the afternoonâŚMy friend said that we were paying to stay in the pub as you have to pay for the pool table and he stated âoh yeah your ÂŁ1 is definitely going to keep me in business isnât itâ, again, very unnecessary comment. If he disrespected every customer that walked in to play pool the same way he disrespected me and my friends, he would be begging for that ÂŁ1 from the pool table. Maybe focus on your customer service and awful attitude rather than if someone is buying a drink from your...
Read moreMyself and my partner came to Kendal for a staycation after not being able to get a proper holiday. Yesterday was his birthday and we decided to pop into town for a drink after heading into Windermere for a meal. We walked into the horse and rainbow and we were eventually served by a lovely gentleman who was very helpful. There was no seats inside due to the football being on so we decided to sit outside in the beer garden and watch the last 5 minutes of the football. A member of staff then came outside snd sat with her friends having a cigarette. After the game had finished she announced to the entire beer garden, whilst still sat down, that we had 5 minutes to get out of the beer garden and go inside as she had to âshut the beer garden downâ even though the pub remained open til 12am - it was 10pm. Myself and my partner just left as the customer service was terrible and...
Read moreI went away for the night to kendal with my husband, friend and her husband. We went in the horse and rainbow at around 9pm on a Saturday night. As soon as you walk in you can see its really rough we bought a few drinks and to be fair the music was really good. But oh my god it was full of really young drunk kids young girls unable to stand bare in mind it was only 9pm. Then there was a young lad who was off his head jumping all over these young girls. He was jumping and fell on top of my friend we looked at the DJ and he wasn't bothered he just sat there staring ignoring everything that was going on. Then the young lad was jumping all over a young girl and took her to the floor they both fell on top of my friend and only then did the DJ bother to move and do something. I would definitely avoid this pub on a weekend night unless you are looking...
