The Agrah Indian restaurant is the oldest Indian restaurant ( 1980 ) in the area ( Seaview street Cleethorpes) and has always been a popular destination for those who enjoy Indian cuisine. It has broad menu that includes regional specialties, classic curries and a few English dishes, the full menu and prices can be viewed on line. The restaurant itself is reasonably sized with a warm and intimate atmosphere, nicely decorated with an Indian inspired theme. The seating is bench and booth in style and comfortable. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and very attentive. The restaurant serves alcoholic drinks and has a reasonable selection. It has restrooms but these are on the 1st floor. The wheelchair access is good, however there's only a couple of tables that could comfortably accommodate a wheelchair and there are no restrooms suitable for the disabled. Credit card payments are accepted here. They have a 4🌟🌟🌟🌟 food hygiene rating. Food review January 2022. It's been quite a long time since I have eaten here but I'm pleased to say that it's still as good as it was on previous visits. I ordered a poppadum and pickles, lamb balti, plain basmati rice, a plain naan bread and tarka Dahl. The quality of the food was very good and I found the Balti especially good being very nicely spiced with plenty of good sized pieces of moist tender lamb.👌 The table service was very good and the staff were very attentive. 👍 I paid £20.10 for my meal and quite frankly it was...
Read moreI have eaten in many resteraunts of this style around the uk. I know for a fact and this is well documented that Mumtaz in Bradford is well renowned for sending their goods to clients such as the 'Sultan of Brunai' along with many many other prestigious clients in UAE. Incliding Princes. They have obviously not heard of the Agrah in Cleethorpes. On comparison the same dishes have been prepared and eaten by myself in many many of these WORLD RENOWED places. I offer no apololgies to thes places but the Agrah in Cleethorpes is far beyond these. The Staff in here are not only tentative to custome services but the quality of thw food prepared by to top class chefs sould be beyond Michelin star resteraunts that i too have eaten in. The table staff are so welcoming and friendly that it is such a place that is second to none for such an experience to be invited and shared. If you are passing and do not experiebce this yourself then you arguably are commiting a food crime. This is in my opionion the best Indian resteraunt in the United Kingdom. How on earth this is not world renowned in itself is an absolute mystery to me. A huge thanks to all the staff in there. You are truly truly the greatest resteraunt of your kind. The Sultan of Brunai and his mates are missing out. Something i got to enjoy before he does. I suggest you do the same whilst the Agrah is what it is. Dont pass and miss the opportunity of your life. You wont regret it....
Read moreZERO TO ALL OF THE ABOVE. WE LOVED THIS PLACE, UNFORTUNATELY FOR THEM AND US WE WONT BE RETURNING. MY BIRTHDAY EVENING RUINED. WE TURNED UP 10 MINS LATE AFTER WE HAD BOOKED 24 HRS IN ADVANCE, GUESS WE JUST LOST TRACK OF TIME. WE GOT SEATED AND A YOUNG MAN VERY KIND AND POLITE TOOK OUR DRINKS ORDER. WE HAD NOT EVEN HAD CHANCE TO LOOK THROUGH THE MENU, WHEN THEY CAME TO TAKE OUR ORDER. THE MAN WAS RUDE AND SAID WE NEEDED TO ORDER QUICKLY AS KITCHEN WAS CLOSING. IT WAS ONLY 10.45 FRIDAY NIGHT AND ONLINE SAID OPEN TILL MIDNIGHT. HE SAID BECAUSE WE WAS LATE WE WOULD HAVE TO PLACE OUR ORDER. HE CONTINUED TO BE RUDE SNAPPING AT MY QUESTIONS. I ASKED HIM NOT TO BE RUDE AND THAT WE WAS A LOVELY COUPLE WHO HAD HAD A LOVELY EVENING CELEBRATING MY BIRTHDAY AND ALL WE WANTED WAS TO FINISH OUR EVENING OFF WITH A LOVELY MEAL. HE SCOWLED THEN WALKED OFF. THE OTHER TABLE TO THE SIDE HAD ONLY JUST RECIEVED THERE STARTERS SO I FELT LIKE IT WAS INTENTIONAL TOWARDS US, ESPECIALLY AS STAFF WERE PUTTING COATS ON LEAVING AND OTHER STAFF WERE PACKING AND CLEANING UP. WE ASKED TO PAY OUR DRINKS BILL, WE QUICKLY DRANK THEM AND GOT UP AND LEFT. WE WAS EMBARRASSED AND SHOCKED AT THE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM. THE WAITER WAS REALLY NOT SO PLEASANT. IT IS SUCH A SHAME AS ITS A LOVELY LITTLE PLACE WE ALWAYS VISIT WHEN IN CLEETHORPES, FOOD IS USUSLLY PROPER AMAZING. WE FEEL SADENED THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED AND WONT BE RETURNING. KIND REGARDS...
