Strap in, if you are of the mindset that the customer isn't right and that the establishment knows best then this place is first on your list. My experience, first and last was this is a very welcoming place, run of the mill green everywhere like you would expect, very pleasant staff as you would expect, and service was great as you would expect.

Everything was as you would expect, that there lies the issue. I didn't assume or expect that a request could be met with such fierce resistance. You could have a glass of milk, and tea or coffee. You could have fried eggs, and scrambled too. You could have white toast, granary and sour dough. Exactly as you would expect.

How about a fried slice, fried half of white bread in with the fried eggs and fried hash browns?

Nope, the kitchen is set up to fry eggs etc and make triangles of toast brown white sour etc, but can they produce a fried slice?????

Nope. I wasn't even aggrieved that "bubble" needed translating and wasn't an option. It required prep and several ingredients which after all is time consuming. A fried slice, a half of a slice reducing waste in my effort to rationalise my need for everything English in my hung over state.

Just was not to be, for me, like their toilets that had a very sad and lonely dusty plastic tree in the corner, it looked good and it was to be expected, as you would expect, but the lack of attention to the plastic dusty tree thing summed up my experience.

As you would expect.

(The staff were excellent and should be commended.)

Really disappointing visit. Service was very poor and our server was very rude and dismissive when we asked a question about it they served any gluten free cakes

No high chairs were available and we hadn’t pre booked although we did try but we were told that they couldn’t fit 10 people in. Anyhow we went on the off chance and we could get in

Unsure why they had no baby changing facilities and I had to change my one year old grandson laid on my coat on the toilet floor!

Unsure what has happened with the service as this was so different to the numerous times we have visited before although we were child free on these visits

The server at the neighbouring table was so different and so helpful so this is not everyone

Must admit when we entered the premises we were told very firmly that you can’t bring that pushchair in here and had to shut it down straight away - not got an issue with putting the pushchair down but the way...

Consistently great cafe. There are lots of reasons that Marples has been open for business for so many years, excellent, friendly, quick efficient service from the ladies, menu choices, value of money, delicious food and well made coffee. Coming from Australia where coffee standards are extremely high I am constantly disappointed with cafes in UK but not Marples today. The lady that made it who also took our order did a Melbourne barista worthy job of it. Well done there. We ordered prawn Marie rose sandwich granary bread and Halloumi Avocado Bagel. Both had very high quality tasting produce and the crisp side salad was freshly made and well balanced. We also chose thin fries (one serving is more than enough for two people) and they were super crunchy on the outside with perfectly soft potato centres. A really satisfying lunch in a Cleethorpes cafe sitting in a bright area in a comfy booth with beach and...

A popular bistro style cafe located in Sea View Street Cleethorpes. We'd been in before for a quick cup of tea. However, we decided to call for breakfast: full English and an Egg Benedict, tea was extra. The total cost was £24.50 Unfortunately, the Egg Benedict was overcooked. The eggs were hard boiled. It wasn't as good as I've had in Wetherspoons. My wife's car wasn't great either and would only rate it a 6/10. The service and venue were good, but the food let it down. The tea was very good, though. The full English did come with mushrooms, but they're not shown in the photo as my wife doesn't like them.
