There were quite a few issues that we encountered whilst at Akash Indian Cuisine, today Saturday 08-10-2016:
The issues are as follows...
The restaurant is in need of. redecoration. It's not a nice place to eat a meal. It's dingy and dark, lit with dimmed lighting.
The staff are in need of a course in Customer Services.
The waiter that showed us to our table, which we think was the manager as he was wearing a blue shirt (whilst the other waiting staff where in white shirts and either black bow ties or other form of neckwear), haf actually just left the menu's on the table...I didn't even know what table we were to sit at. He eventually came back and took a drink order....which he said Lager, Wine or other drinks...which we asked for 2 x Coca-Cola's with NO ICE but a slice of LEMON...which is what we got.
There was an older waiter who had taken the food menu which he kept saying things that he wanted us to take...we eventually asked for 2 starters: 1 x Onion Bajees and 1 x Chicken Packoras with side salad. We also ordered 2 x Chicken Kormas...1 with Mushroom Rice and the other Fried Rice both had onions in it....too much indeed! We got our starters which where nice. We had to ask for a pickle tray with a few pompudoms...when we where finished with our starters we had to put our starter plates into the basket prior to them being taken away....before our main dishes came out...in which both Kormas where lukewarm to touch, we informed the waiter that the Kormas weren't hot...he said that they where mild...we said no they're cold to touch and too cold to eat....he eventually took them back to be reheated...at which he left the rice on the table to go cold too...so when the Kormas came back the rice was cold too cold to eat infact.
We didn't eat any of the main dishes apart from a mouthful each...which was disgusting to taste...
When it was noticed that we hadn't eaten our dishes..the older waiter took them away and asked if everything was OK...we said NO...then the Manager (guy in the blue shirt must have overgeard our conversation...in which all he coild do was tut and swear...not at all nice for other customers (with 4 children with them)!
We had been told to pay £30.00 and leave...again this wasn't called for at all!
Obviously we will certainly NOT be...

We stayed in Blackpool for a wedding for a few nights and tried a few places but this restaurant stood out as not only the BEST Indian food I've had in Blackpool it was the best Indian food and curry I had in all the many places I had been to in the entire Lancashire area.
Most importantly the service here is amazing!! We were personally greeted by the Owner, who was very nice and genuine, he made us feel quite at home and that wasn't even the best part. We had called ahead to ask if this place was toddler friendly and had high chairs, as we don't like to be presumptuous when eating out with our two year old. It turns out we spoke to the Owner's son on the phone before we went and he said that they absolutely welcome children and do have high chairs if we needed one.
When we arrived we ended up asking the Owner's son, Tan, who came to check on us as we were being seated, for the high chair and he remembered my husband's voice from over the phone! He then told the server that he would be taking care of our table and he was such a friendly and pleasant young man, I was so impressed with his attention to great service I wish I could go on and on about how nice he was. He was just a person with great character and was very genuine with his words. He spoke to us for a little while after our meal and asked us about Toronto, it was nice of him to ask of our home and he was such great company! We ordered what he recommended and he told us what he likes and what is popular. We chose from that list and it was all very delicious!
We had the kebab starter app, lamb bhuna, aloo gobi, chicken tikka masala and popadoms as well as naan. the The curry was so flavourful with a good amount of heat, the meat was cooked perfectly so neither the chicken or the lamb was tough. The raita was full of flavour and had a good amount it spice and heat on its own. The naan was large but still light and fluffy and even the potatoes and vegetables were cooked to perfect tenderness. It turned out to be a lot of food for two people but it was so delicious we stuffed ourselves because we could not stop eating and it was sad to leave any of that delicious food.
I highly recommend coming here if you want great Indian food. The quality...
Read moreUpdated Sept 23, great food, great service and good atmosphere. Akash Tandoori restaurant is one of those places you walk past during the daytime and never notice it's there. That's a big mistake. This venue serves some of the nicest food I have tasted. Lots of flavours and cooked piping hot. Staff are pleasant and polite, venue is clean and tastefully decorated. On this occasionI i had, poppadoms for starters with 4 different sauce dips all full of flavour, for main the Tandoori chicken which came on a sizzling plate on a bed of onions, pilue rice, curry sauce, fries and a garlic nan bread. All the food was full of flavour and tasted really good. Definitely worthy of the 5 star review. Staff are very respectful and time their visits to your table without it being obtrusive. From street level you have to take a flight of stairs up to the restaurant. Most of the seating is set out so you feel as if you are at your own private Booth but they also cater for larger parties which is more open. There is also a bar area with a good selection of wines and beers. Toilets are up another level of stairs so the only downside is it's not really suitable for disabled or impaired walking. Taxis can be called via the restaurant or easily obtained within a 2min walk around the corner. If you like Indian food then you need to try this place out on your next visit to Blackpool If this review was informative enough for you give it a thumbs up or like to let other know...
