My review is more a criticism of the escape room than the main tour and i don't want to be so harsh but i think it needs a real overhaul, it could probably be really good but it just needs a writer/designer to come in and add/change elements because at the moment it is awful. Compared to other escape rooms the puzzles were really lacklustre and frankly boring. It was a lot of reading in a dim room and puzzles were very disjointed with no aha! moments.
We also got way too many hints, seriously i felt like we didn't have any time to actually try to work stuff out for ourselves pacing was horrible. I think it was a mixture of trigger happy hint staff but also i suspect that it happens because the clues are probably essential to the game somewhat as the puzzles seem really obtuse with nothing to subtly reference where to apply certain clues or how they fit into the room, usually there are little links to sortof make you think about another area and how an unlock will affect the room at large wheras here things didn't really make sense why we were doing a specific thing except the we were told to it so we did. It was just a series of instructions spoon fed through a screen at points and i don't think it was my group being dumb either i think it was part of the design of the room.
We ended up getting out really fast and it felt like a waste of money, really boring experience i regret paying for. The theme is nice and the main plot is fine if a tad bland but the actual puzzles were really lame and we didn't really feel a sense of achievement when we escaped like in other games and it felt very anticlimactic, hard pass on this escape room at present complete waste of money!
Regarding the tour i'd generally recommend though but feel we had a poor experience than past ones (i thoroughly enjoyed the Berlin, it's why i came back to do another) didn't realise how similar they'd be but would still have been enjoyable except we were packed into every room like tinned fish, not enough room for everyone to sit down, couldn't see/hear the actors half the time it felt kind of rushed and because it took so long to funnel everyone through doors you were stood around for ages and heard all the scares from the people ahead of you and ugh crying children. Unfortunately this one just wasn't very immersing for me. The actors were really good though especially the ones who managed to get the humour through correctly without being super overt but maybe don't sell so many tickets for one slot that it just spoils the vibe because if i hadn't been on a good Dungeon tour before i would have been completely lost (because i couldn't hear half the story) and i would have been really disappointed and thought the Dungeons were awful when I know they're actually not because i really...
Read moreWent yesterday and id checked my childs height against the chart on the wall and she reached the height needed to go on the ride so we booked it. She was a bit nervous but braved it because she was excited to go on the ride at the end (she loves rides and has been on the big one, lots of roller coasters lots of thrill rides, shes a bit scared of the dark but was willing to brave it to go on another ride bless her) So we got to the end of the experience and they measured whether kids were tall enough by putting them next to a massive scythe!! Not accurate in the slightest it wasnt even straight so needless to say they thought my child had miraculously shrunk a couple of inches over the duration of the experience and kicked us out! My child was beyond distraught it ruined the entire day. The lovely people at the reception were kind enough to compensate us for the distress but this practice should not be happening. If you're going to have a height restriction make sure you have something of that height to actually compare it to. Weapons are not accurate measurements. I thought it was a joke at first. Obviously not. Not a 1 star because the first actor was entertaining and considerate of any upset kids (not my child- another child was crying and they let the child out. My child was nervous though and he let her stay with me in the lift...
Read moreThe queue to purchase tickets for the Blackpool Tower Eye wasn't too long and was very reasonably priced as it also includes a 4D Experience.
The 4D Experience was incredible, and well presented prior to going up the tower. The queue for the lift was also pretty quick, the guys manning the doors at the bottom today were very funny and spoke to everyone before they got in the lift. The guys inside the lifts will answer any questions and are very quick at answering everything. They definitely know their stuff.
Views from the top were amazing, we definitely picked a good day for it. We did have a slight blunder while up the tower due to an absolute crazy woman (complete stranger) who thought it was okay to put a straw in her mouth, blow off the wrapper and then try and stick the same straw back into my child's mouth. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. We informed a member of staff who then radio the manager and a couple of other members of staff. They came up to the top of the tower very quickly to investigate what had happened and had security waiting for the woman at the bottom. If the 2 female members of staff read this, we'd like to thank you for fully checking out the situation for us. It's bizarre that anyone would do that to someone...
