I'm torn with this venue. The Bad You're supposed to be allowed in at 18:00 so we got there at that time and was forced to wait in the cold a further 20 minutes before being permitted to proceed to the dining/entertainment area. We were then ignored by all the waiting staff. We collared one in the end and asked when the food was coming, the waitress told us that we would need to tell a waitress that we were ready and then immediately turned and walked on. (you didn't read that wrong). Eventually food arrived, mine came with the extra flavouring of the waiters thumb in it. I then realised I had no soup spoon and so waited a further 4 - 5 minutes to get a staff members attention again to finally receive one. I didn't know this at the time but I was also missing a roll that should have came too but never did. (I'm pretty sure the soup was canned but I cannot confirm it). Mains came out. Presentation is what I'd expect of a 5 year old plating up. The veg was raw (please do not reply with al dente, there is a difference and this was raw), the beef was cooked well and the sauce an acquired taste but I didn't mind it. Aside from this you was mainly dealing with incompetent serving staff bringing the wrong dishes to you and that sort of thing.
We were not alone in most of the above, it was happening all around us.
The Good The entertainment team was fabulous. I don't think I'd describe anything about it as outrageous but the comedy was great, the level of vocal talent was superb, the show was well rehearsed, well choreographed and executed to a very high standard. There was a lot of content and the team operated like a well oiled machine everyone knowing their places and cue. The entertainment team get 6 out of 5 stars.
To summarise I wouldn't recommend this as a place to dine, the food standard just isn't there. If this were a food review alone it would be 1 star. The entertainment however I'd highly recommend to anyone seeking a fantastic evening out in Blackpool. It knocked the spots off of most of the productions I've attended in...
Read moreChristmas Day Gala? £75pp & the only thing edible was the 1 piece of cold Turkey! Never In all my days have I had a meal as bad as this. The service was shocking, we seemed to be the after thought (if any thought) to be honest. One staff member dumped my cheese board at the other end of the table in passing & less than 5 seconds later another came over & asked had I finished & took it away! Supposed to get coffee or tea after the meal? We were offered the 1 leftover cup of cold coffee on the tray as the Male server walked back. What are we supposed to do have straws & share it? I have NEVER left any negative feedback anywhere, I always make allowances but this has really got my back up. The disappointed & embarrassment I felt for my family was unreal. We travelled over 3hrs & booked hotel for this so called magnificent Christmas day gala. I would have done better saving myself about (£500 in total for meal, drinks, photo, tickets) staying at home & having a pot noodle! could go on forever and a day. Highlight was a family photo that as soon as you walk through the door your collared. The most embarrassing thing is everyone asking how our first xmas away was ( we were unbelievably excited for xmas day & having to explain what a nightmare & complete shambles it was. Having to drive round xmas day to find ANYWHERE open to feed your kids beause they were starving after all that money! It took us a very long time to be able to do this. THANK YOU for giving us the WORST...
Read moreWow can not really say anything we enjoyed anything with this place. After spending nearly £500 to go with family for christmas day we was highly disappointed. Food was terrible even after sending it back twice it was still cold consisting of one piece of carrot and one mash sprout for £75 a head. Also finding a stonelooking object in with one of the meals. We paid over £20 for our 3year old son not to recive his dinner with the rest of us. By the time everyone was done eating the edible bits they came out with burnt chicken nuggets and chips for my son that couldn't even be eaten even know we paid for a christmas dinner for him. To top it all off we had to share a table with another family after paying all that money. We have tried to talk to management through email, phone calls and my wife's even been in 3 times but his either in a meeting, checking security or just missed him? Paul Steven's was ment to ring yesterday at half 2 and then again today at half 2 but not heard anything from him. They keep trying to fob us off telling us false things to try and keep us quiet. This could have been dealt with if they looked after the customers and stuck to their word. What a waste of a Christmas day UPDATE still no response from higher management just off receptionist. Still waiting to be contacted after over 30days. It's a joke having to keep chasing them while they hide in...
