Albert's Shed Southwater — Restaurant in England

I'm genuinely sorry to rate this place ONLY 1 Star; but I have to be HONEST. Food = Mediocre, or maybe even a little Less; DRY, Overcooked Vege. Burger, Wrong Fries with my Order and COLD. When I mentioned the order was WRONG; we was told that the Chef was stressed out... but it was only my family ordering food at the time - odd, lol Staff = The one girl (with the adidas) that seemed to be running this place was EXTREMELY RUDE! She DID NOT want to be working a sunny Sunday afternoon; and she made that VERY CLEAR for everyone to see. She was literally Huffing & Puffing at every opportunity (very off putting). When I asked her for a Menu, honestly; she told me that she was too busy for me and carried on chatting with her colleague at the till. Tables were filthy, I asked for the table to be wiped so that we as a family could enjoy our lunch - but nobody came out to clean. Of course I wiped it myself and continued with my lunch, but staff were just chilling at the bar, not good. Decor = if anything this was 10/10; Froom Scooters to old Asian Taxi's, to Milk Barrels to a beautiful looking Fireplace, surrounded by swings as a Centre Piece; great backdrops for any kinda picture! The guys at the bar (with the tatts) who took out order and served us food and drinks was very polite and welcoming. to be honest; he is the ONLY asset in this place... him and the decor!

Change your staff - this place should be heaving; repeat custom is definitely NOT going to happen with...

Venue was fantastic featuring some really novel and fun ideas. Food and drinks were cheap, WiFi worked sufficiently and the staff were friendly and approachable. The food was hit and miss, my partner had a burger with nacho topped fries, the fries were lovely and the burger was pretty good using fresh ingredients. The burger itself was pretty dry though and consisted off 2 small pattys. The fries were missing the nacho cheese though which is significant if your paying extra for it. I had the pancakes with fresh fruit and ice cream. The fruit was great with fresh strawberries, raspberries and blackberries along with fresh scoop vanilla ice cream. The pancakes themselves were cold american style 'fat' pancakes, not what I was expecting at all and fairly small. No sauce was provided either despite maple syrup mentioned on the menu. I wouldn't mind even if they were microwaved crepes but I think it should mention they are American style. Missing a star due to the food gripes, I realise it's pub food and for that it's fantastic value but it's ever so slightly disappointing as some small changes could change a disappointing meal into an all round 5 star. Only 3 stars, sorry. And it's only for staff, they were great even though only 4 of them during quite busy period and they were running around the place with no time off. We've been there on Sunday after lunch time. We've been told it's an hour waiting for food but we agreed to that as we've seen other portions and decided it looks very tasty. And also restaurant on its own looks great, very unique, done with great taste. Anyway, lady told us it's an hour waiting time for food. And my question is - why only 4 people on shift during such a busy time? It was sunny Sunday, day before bank holiday and half term. I think some more people should be on shift as by the time we were finishing food not many people left there as tbh who wants to wait for so long for food. Also, cleanliness should become more priority as floor was sticky, especially in toilets. Also I asked for baby changing unit and I was given keys to disabled toilet with no baby changing unit available? Anyway, food was very good, portions quite big as well. So well done to staff for handling such a situation today as I believe it was very tough day for them. And restaurant is fog...
