Ali's — Restaurant in England

Just moments back my family had a terrible time at Ali’s. It was my wedding anniversary and visited the restaurant for dinner where we were greeted horrendously.

As we entered the restaurant there was no one in the reception and we thought it would be okay to enter the table area and take our seat (was not aware we should be waiting until someone allocates a seat). When we did that a waiter came pouncing on us, for a moment I was taken aback. I was checking what was wrong, he aggressively responded that why we entered the seating area without him telling us. I politely told yes, we could have waited but you could be more polite in saying that. In a fraction of a second he again pounced to say I’m not ready to serve you, make your way out of the restaurant. It was such a rude exertion and was literally shocked by the behaviour. I’m not sure if such kind of individuals are fit to be in the hospitality industry in customer facing roles.

Given our anniversary, we didn’t deserve to have such an unpleasant evening, honestly felt dejected post the incident. I’m not sure if the specific waiter is owning the restaurant or just the waiter but the hospitality and reception was utterly terrible. Will never recommend this place to anybody.

Ordered food through JUST EAT tonight, and was totally and utterly disgusted! Firstly the food was late! At the time we thought it was a bit expensive, as we ordered four items and it came up to over thirty pound. I myself had a vegetable biryani, which I thought had better be good as it was £12.95!! I naturally expected it to come with the usual vegetable curry. But when looking in the bag there was no veg curry. We were just about to phone the restaurant, when we read the menu on their website which actually says Biryani now does not include the usual free veg curry! This i thought was a total and utter rip off as I essentially had paid £12.95 for a pot of rice! Seeing as I'm a vegetarian this is all I ended up having for my dinner as my cousin had chicken korma and rice. Maybe if we had ordered a delivery direct from the restaurant we would have been told this and we maybe wouldn't have been changed any extra costs. Having said that £ 29.95 was the order amount before the extra charges and I think this is an absolute disgrace for four items of food. I will not be ordering from this place again. What a total waste of money, for what essentially wasn't any better than a packet of UNCLE...

Wow what an interesting night ordered food from the restaurant try to collect it 50 minutes later weighted in the Restaurant for another 40 minutes an hour and a half later altogether. Got home to find the order was missing food rang up got a little bit angry frustrated. Which I shouldn't have done I do apologise and did apologise.. but to be greeted by the man who runs the front counter when I was on the phone with he was very angry and upset I didn't swear at his son I swear about the situation for not having the correct order. When I got in the shop the man be on the counter was rude argumentative threatening behaviour gave me my money back I've been going to this restaurant since he opened and when they was working at the restaurant before that as well you're very disappointed with the service I received so they barred me because I confronted them and they didn't like it. They wouldn't get Ali out from the back because they knew he would have stood by me and he's anger would have been a lot karma and dealt with properly.
