I have been frequenting the store since it opened a few years back.

I can comfortably say that I make a purchase at least every fortnight if not more often. I have been purchasing Eid Cakes like clock work and other cakes for occasions at no small cost.

I was on first name terms with some of the staff like Karis and the other great staff.

Of late, there is a tallish young girl who is so extremely rude, words cannot describe her poor behaviour and attitude but have ignored her behaviour giving her the benefit of the doubt for having a bad day.

She always makes it apparent that when I am selecting the items I would like, it is the greatest burden in the world for her and I am definitely inconveniencing her, although I am very familiar with your products. I could understand her frustration if I was always dithering about finding it difficult to choose, but I always know what I want as I have been frequenting the place since it’s inception.

I was in on Friday 28th August around lunch time, and bought 4 items worth £18, paid £20 and dropped £2 in the tip jar. (I always tip whenever possible in the store and the girls are usually very appreciative.) The brownies were placed in a white paper bag and the other stuff in a box. It was pouring with rain outside and asked her if she could give me a bag, and was told to pay £0.50 for a paper bag.

The other assistant told her I had just put £2 into the tip jar but she insisted on the £0.50 for the bag.

This is not the first time this young lady has behaved poorly but today she went out of her way. I wish the previous staff could be brought back. I will take the liberty of describing her as the taller of the two young ladies that were there. I have seen her mistreat and come across very rude to other clients whilst I’ve been in store on different occasions.

Really left a bad taste. I don’t mind the £0.50 but her attitude really stinks. I will make it a point that as long as she employed there, I...

With my heavy heart, I rated you 2 stars.

First of all, the chocolate burnt cheesecake I had was so wonderful it could make you forget all sadness in the world. It was that good, balanced, light, but rich, and so was the coffee. My empty cup and plate was the verdict.

But the café that day was like a boombox. It was around 5pm Friday. I went in and there was a family of three sitting there already. I ordered at the counter and took a bar seat since I was alone. Then two more customers came in and started chatting with the family. They stood right behind my seat and didn’t even sit down. Their voices were so loud like people with hearing impairment who cannot hear themselves and need to turn up their volume all the time. I looked at them, and they didn’t even budge as if I were invisible. I didn’t need or want to hear about their family bragging.

So, I left the café with my food untouched. I let the owner (I believe he was) know that I’d be back hoping they would quiet down by the time I came back.

I expected to have a peaceful time after a long day at the end of the week, and my experience that day failed miserably.

I know it’s not totally the café’s fault but your customers are part of your brand. And if your establishment attracts a certain type of clientele, that does say something about your brand. And that brand is not for me. You’re not the only loud food establishment in Leicester, luckily there are ones that are...

Worst customer services experience/ worst cake/ Don’t waste your money!

Ordered a cake from this establishment as I been to this establishment several times and it was always been extremely positive. Delightful cup cakes etc.

Decided to order a cake for my daughters birthday in the most roundabout way with emails back and forth. The day of the collection, went to pick it up from fist impressions cake looked amazing however there was a hair in the box. Totally put me off (the staff was extremely apologetic gave me cupcakes and macarons to make up for it. Which I thought was a nice gesture. Had it not been for the urgency of the party I wouldn’t have take the cake with me.

While, cutting the cake at the party the icing of the cake was stodgy almost artificial in texture and taste. The sponge was flavourless. Very disappointing. Nothing like the cup cakes I have had at the store. Only the outer shell of the cake was elegant. That was all there is to it.

Emailed Nailah for a compensation or something for the disappointment I have endured. Received a very cut and dry response. Frankly, the worst response I have ever had saying there’s nothing they could have done as the staff offered a couple of cupcakes and 3 macarons that was the compensation that I’m to receive. If I’m to order again they could offer some discounts!

It’s an absolute joke! Never again will I ever go to this ridiculous shop, waste my money or order any...

I’d stay far away from this place if you have any propensity towards beautiful confectionary that tastes as good as it looks. The Francis street store has a stunning aesthetic that makes excellent use of space and light. Tastefully decorated with flowers and an incredibly neat display that will satisfy any OCD tendencies, I found myself wanting to spend more time just taking it all in and trying more and more of the offerings. The staff are pleasant, knowledgable, and very accommodating in offering advice from the picturesque selection of delectable goodies. The macarons are the best I’ve ever tasted. I did a side by side with Laduree and bakerst are miles ahead. Finally pulled the trigger on a custom cake for my small ones birthday. My hesitation with all of these cakes is that they look good but are plastered with fondant and just taste horrible. Certainly not the case with bakerst. The cake was the centrepiece of the show and even though We had it the next day was moist, soft, and absolutely delicious. The cream was nothing short of perfect and complimented the chocolate sponge like hot chocolate and marshmallows. Unbelievable Can’t recommend this place enough!

I just came back with my daughter from our first afternoon tea experience at Baker Street (Leicester branch). We are very familiar with their pastries and visited all 3 branches in the UK so far. Since we always enjoy going to nice places for afternoon teas, we were curious to see how it would be at Baker Street. We booked 1 day in advance and were really looking forward to it. The staff was well organised and prepared for our visit. When the 3-tier cake stand was placed onto our table, it felt like pure LUXURY. Just looking at it, put already a smile on our faces. I couldn’t resist to take multiple pictures. The food items (sandwiches as well as pastries) were all freshly made, creatively presented, diverse and just mouth-watering. When it came to choosing one macaron, it was nice that we could choose from various flavours. The coffee and the hot chocolate also tasted nicely and were presented in big cups. The nice set-up and ambience of the Café adds value to the experience too. All three staff members were very friendly throughout our visit and made sure that we were happy. Definitely recommendable! Thanks for the lovely experience.
