Anatolia Mediterranean tapas & meze bar — Restaurant in England

Booked this restaurant to celebrate my birthday on 16.2.24 for a party of 16. Hassan was very pleasant and accomodating,. On arrival we were welcomed and shown to our table, in the annexe, which was private and pleasant although cold. We asked for the heating to to turned up but this did not happen. On placing our orders, one of our starters did not arrive and when we brought this to their attention, we were told that it was been prepared but by this time everyone else around the table had finished theirs so we asked that they cancel as we no longer wanted it and would be ordering the mains but they insisted on bringing it out and said they would not include in the bill. On tasting this starter, it appeared to be frozen on the inside so was not eaten. We ordered our mains, and checked it through with the person taking the order who went off to place our orders however when the meals were brought to our table almost all of them were wrong (rice instead of fries). We let them know that the orders were not right and was told that they were not as they all came with rice again some orders were not complete. When we went to settle the bill, they had charged for items we had not recieved/ eaten and on querying this the "waitress" said "oh they just don't want to pay". This ruined what started off as a very pleasant evening and I now have an unpleasant reminder of my birthday celebratory meal....

First and undoubtedly the last visit as the evening rapidly sped downhill.

It began okay. The food itself is average. It looks lovely and quaint inside, plus, the space was clean. However, being seated in the back room, made it difficult to settle as it was cold.

The shameful part of the experience was the service. Food was really slow to come out, missing or mistaking dishes along the way, despite the order being clarified SEVERAL times as we were a party. We immediately made it clear that missing dishes were no longer wanted as they were too late, only for some to be randomly brought out and forced onto the table later on. When the missing and late items were contested, we were met with hostility, ignorance and blame. Any conversation attempted to be had was audaciously shut down, argued or dismissed by staff walking off. It became an even bigger battle when the bill came. Apparently, it's customary to pay for missing, late and unwanted items. Absolutely abysmal! Acknowledgement of staff error and reflecting inconsistencies in the bill would have gone a long way to resolving the meal. Professionalism needs to stand even when situations don't go your way. No excuse for such...

I haven’t been here so much since moving 4 years ago. Popped in tonight and was greeted with a restaurant twice the size. Very tastefully decorated in the new part. It’ll be fantastic in the summer with the new garden terrace. I was hoping to see the owner but I was well looked after by the very pleasant and efficient staff. Peroni may be an odd beer for a Turkish restaurant when most serve efes, but it’s fantastic and goes well with the food. I enjoyed a very tasty chicken and lamb shish combination. The complimentary bread, chilli and yoghurt starter were nicer than the usual. Certainly richer and more flavourful. The bread was warm. A fantastic meal. Much nicer atmosphere than the current crop of Turkish grills. Can’t...
