Me and my friends recently visited a restaurant with high hopes for a delightful dining experience, but unfortunately, I left feeling extremely disappointed. The major letdown stemmed from the excessive amount of time it took for our food to be served. After enjoying our starters, we were subjected to an agonising wait of over an hour for our main courses. Each time we inquired about the status of our order, we received vague responses that left us without a clear understanding of when we would finally be served.
To make matters worse, it became apparent that the restaurant was prioritising online orders over the customers present in the restaurant. As someone dining in the restaurant, it was disheartening to see our needs and expectations take a backseat to those placing orders remotely.
Despite the frustrating wait, I must acknowledge that the quality of the food itself was good However, my appreciation for the food was marred by the fact that, even after enduring an hour-long wait, the dishes arrived at our table a staggering 15 minutes apart. This created an extremely unpleasant situation where some friends had to watch their meals grow cold while others were already eating.
Regrettably, my disappointment extended beyond the delayed service and disjointed meal delivery. When I approached the manager to provide feedback on our experience, I was met with a defensive attitude and a series of excuses. Instead of taking responsibility for the excessive delays and offering a sincere apology, the manager seemed more interested in deflecting blame.
Overall, my dining at this restaurant was far from satisfactory. While the food itself showed promise, the extensive waiting time, prioritisation of online orders, and the manager's dismissive response to feedback left a sour taste in my mouth. I hope that the restaurant takes these concerns seriously and takes steps to improve their service and customer experience...
Read moreThe Theatre Royal Windsor is currently running the play "Dial M for murder"....well at the BananaTree they are busy performing "Dial B for Ballsup"!
At the end of a day trip to Windsor we decided to grab a quick bite and a drink before heading home. We chose BananaTree as we'd eaten in their London restaurants and they was always very good. Sadly, the same cannot be said of their branch in Windsor. Oh dear.....where to begin????
The table setting...only one water glass between two people, three chopsticks between two people ( you get the idea)....good job we're married!
The young man who took our order struggled to understand us....this became patently obvious as the meal went on as the mistakes mounted. It wasn't a difficult order, one noodles, one curry, two sides and two drinks...simples!!!
Literally minutes after ordering my husbands noodles arrived ..but no drinks. I waited and waited... eventually....the manager spying me crying over my empty plate asked what was wrong....and then hurried away to get my food....which had never been added to the original order. And still no drinks.
Behind the bar, the bar maids' only role in the business seemed to be to neck as much free orange juice as possible... nevermind the customers, nevermind the cocktails or wine
Finally, two thirds of the way through our meal my husbands drinks arrived...me....still waiting for Godot!!!! We finished our meal....still no drink...I went to the toilet and asked for the bill....came back...oooo...a glass of wine. Bit late in the day
We paid the bill ..£72....was it worth it... definitely not. The food was passable, just, but the service was appalling. The restaurant was less than half full... I'd say that was a miracle.....if they can't get the basics right, or get enough competent staff...just close the business.
All good murder mysteries end with the reveal of the villain....five more minutes in that place and it would...
Read moreVisited on a Sunday night for our wedding anniversary after seeing the venue on a previous Windsor visit. The location is really nice and accessible and it has a nice atmosphere and feel inside. It was very quiet, we were never the only customers but it wasn't far off.
The staff were really pleasant and I don't want my review to in any way feel like a sleight on the staff, they were welcoming and attentive, answering questions about the food when asked.
The food is unfortunately where it all falls apart.
We ordered a share portion of Malaysian Chicken Kajang Satay Skewers. The sauce was thin, felt like a watered down renewal of old sauce which even then couldn't save the Chicken from being exceptionally tough and dry. Really bad start to the meal.
Things can only get better though, nope. Wrong.
My wife ordered the Crispy chicken and in mango and lime, I tried it at her prompting, dry, not a hint of the advertised flavours, just bland and dry chicken.
I ordered the Char Grilled Duck with Hoisin and Cashew nuts. Another disappointing course, if i'd ordered this on it's own this would be a 1 Star review. It was over cooked and badly plated.
Luckily i'd ordered a side of Nasi Goreng - a side which on it's own saved this review from the single star. This rice was delicious, flavourful with a mild heat on the back end.
Not food, but the the Lychee & Lime Cooler is really refreshing and tangy. Delicious.
Overall just a massive shame for a restaurant just opposite to Wagamama's. If you can't outcook a mass produced chain with a similar (Not the same I understand) menu, you're in a lot of trouble.
Review Total 2/5 I appreciate that my score on atmosphere and service are high, but the unforgivably bad food from a place whos service is food, is ultimately sunk by...
