Had to change my review from 5 stars to 1 star. I used to come here all the time with family, we used to have a tradition of having Christmas and new years celebration here and the food was always lovely but the best thing was the service - all staff were amazing and we have never had an issue with anyone. Since covid the place have changed dramatically and it was the first time I visited in a while. The service was shocking, I haven’t been treated so badly by staff in a very long time.

We arrived at about 13.30-14.00 today, nobody greeted us and we went to the older lady at the bar. She had a strong Easter European accent and black hair in a pony tail and a black T-shirt. She was passive aggressive with us the whole time and I felt extremely uncomfortable, she had such an attitude I don’t understand how you can speak with people like this.

The bar has a pay as you go system as we later found out, when we visited previously we paid the bill before leaving so we assumed it was still the same hence why we didn’t pay straight away. Once we got our drinks this Easter European lady came up to our table and proclaimed loudly that we have to go and pay for our stuff NOW. I was made to feel like a thief who wasn’t going to pay, not to mention how embarrassing that was as she was so loud that everyone around us heard it. I got a latte that was very bitter so I came up to her again and asked for some more sugar, the other younger lady with big ear piercings said something along the lines of “oh the sugar is right there”, the older lady said “no I’ll serve her, here you go love” with so much sarcasm and the fakest smile I’ve ever seen. How am I supposed to know where the sugar is? It’s my first time here since the refurbishment so I had no idea what the new rules are.

The staff were so unnecessarily rude to us we ended up leaving even though we planned to get food there. This place lost a long term customer and it’s a real shame because the place looks lovely, I’ll never return there as I was made to feel like a nuisance and it...

Disappointing! Popped in on Sunday afternoon to have a drink and something to eat. The staff were friendly and took us to our table. We ordered two hot chocolates and when they arrived the cup was barely half full. I made a point of this and the chap took them away and filled them up saying he’d not used the machine before, I guess he topped them up with warm milk as they didn’t taste very much of chocolate.

We ordered from the sharer menu the baked Camembert as it sounded lovely from the description, sadly what arrived was underwhelming and not very hot. It was served with 3 pieces of toasted bread, certainly wasn’t what I called focaccia, this was meant to a sharing plate so 3 small bits of bread was certainly not enough. I mentioned this to a waiter who was more than happy to get some more bread, 5 pieces turned up on a plate so more than enough. We finished our food deciding not to bother with dessert. Then to add insult to injury they added £1 to the bill for extra bread, I made it known to the waiter that I wasn’t happy but he just smiled apologetically.

It was such a shame as the place was lovely and the staff were nice but the food was not good at all. They have a prime spot in the high street so I’m sure it will remain busy, the reviews on here seem to vary from good to bad, but there are too many bad ones for this to...

Having spent Saturday evening in Pub from 7pm to10pm. Wefojnd that the food was cold on one plate returned. Cod and Chips for £19 was not the best fish .Witherspoons is better Cod The atmosphere was OK when I first arrived sitting in Food area after the Waitress requested if I was having food ,she was very polite and welcoming my answer was waiting gor 2 more guests.having my guests arrived we sat down for food.after replacing the food pie and mash which was cold We found on the next table of Asian were very very loud with no food on table .caused by the men the women left the table . I mentioned to Waitress who were not in a position to assist as no Manager or Security were around. I feel sorry for the Waitress it is not her fault Having spent a lot of money on food and drinks The evening was spoilt. This is the second time this year with nit very good food 1st was a party of 12 who were having a late Xmas party ,having spent a lot of money on food an drink .the burgers and steaks were not good. 1st time we were in there 1 minute after nine requested some food Chef replied were closed .I replied to him surely you can rustle up something for us .no was the answer. Posh pub no personality only the Lady Manager on first 2 visits was excellent .rest ? She was not on duty Drinks expensive along with...

Mixed experience here over a week ago, they got our starter wrong twice, asked for no nuts on the baked cheese starter but it came with nuts, server took it back to exchange it no problem there, next one came out plain and didn't include the other garnish items that were meant to be on it like honey and some other bits which we wanted. The Cheese starter and toasted bread was still very nice, We did then have a longish wait for the mains to come, we got the burger and fish, burger meat was very dry presumably because they had to remake our starters and food probably sat under the heat lamp, That said the food quality of the burger was good overall, the burger could of been very nice if it was served shortly after it was cooked. Fish was mushy and not flaky as expected, classic sign that it was a frozen product. Chips and the Slaw were also very good 👍

Decided to try this pub on a Saturday night for dinner because we were looking for a dog friendly and GF (gluten free options) restaurant. We did not have high expectations because it was a Saturday night (and being on the high street in Windsor) so assumed it would be busy and in our experience service tends to suffer at most places on a busy night. Hence we were pleasantly surprised by how attentive and friendly the staff were. We were seated right away and our dog was brought a bowl of water. Was very happy to have a gluten free options menu (as well as regular menu) in a pub. Our order was taken promptly and the food came out quickly. The servers checked on us and kept us informed when the kitchen was closing. Everything was presented well and tasted good and the ambience is very nice as well. Good find in Windsor!

Not a great eating experience. Based on previous reviews, myself and my partner were looking forward to this meal. I had fish and chips (the worst I have ever had) it was stale. Over cooked chips, but amazing mushy peas, which were the only thing I enjoyed. My partner had the chicken roast. Other than the veg. The rest of the plate was disappointing. Similar to my fish and chips everything seemed stale. The chicken had a strange smell to it. I seemed like two meals that had been sitting around and thrown into a microwave on order. For the price, I was expecting some freshly cooked food with good flavour. I don’t think I would ever return here.
