I went this afternoon to buy more Christmas presents for more friends who are coming to spend a few days with us and I needed to have individual bags for my expensive presents and the lady who I new from previous shopping visits agreed she directed me to the till where a very unhelpful racist lady served me with envie and hatred,I never experienced this in my whole life and she refused my request to have a few bags for my presents! Absolutely horrible experience they give me this Christmas Eve,I wanted to speak with the manager to see what the manager thinks and the lady I knew from before she said that she was in charge at that time and she consistently refused my persistent request, it made no difference that was Christmas Eve and such special time,this two ladies have ruined my shopping experience this Christmas! Both they insisted for me to buy Christmas gift bags as they can't give me a few bags to give my presents in! I specifically wanted to give Daniels bags as a souvenir more from our famous area of Windsor! I have explained this to this Absolutely disgraceful persons,I can't even call them ladies in fact as they have behaved like pure animals and they have no clue what Christmas Time means to people! Would I spend my cash at Daniels again?!not if this two are around, disgraceful and can't be described enough this horrible experience! I would like the owners and real managers to know about this two members of staff how they behave with good customers who are spending money to receive a good service! I will find out their names and update this soon for the owners to know what is happening in their prestigious store where stuff are bully and lying to get the sales and then they can't give some store bags for the presents I bought from them! Appoling and disgraceful experience, I wish I was shopping somewhere else this afternoon!!! Stuff is a big problem, please look into this as I thought well before posting here and because it has affected me I want to make people aware of what can happen with some of the not so nice stuff at Daniels Windsor!!! If this wouldn't happen I would of had a wonderful day today but because of this negative experience I had a sad afternoon and evening! Never happened this to me,I am still in shock!!! My young daughter was with me and she got quiet frightened by this two stuff behaviour and refusing to accommodate my simple request to have a few bags for my many presents that costed hundreds of £600,also I have requested gift receipts and not been given! The one who put the items through the till also put items a few times over so I have to comeback and clarify that situation, an absolute disaster afternoon, I was about to stay a bit longer and enjoy the atmosphere and do some more shopping at Daniels this afternoon but because of this things happening I wanted to go home as they jumped at me like wild wolfs and of course it has affected me and even more my daughter got very upset as we talked about giving the presents to our friends,my daughter wants to hand the presents in individual bags to all our friends and my daughter likes to speak nice about the store to her friends as she likes to buy her toys from upstairs, we couldn't go upstairs this afternoon as it was to much already what happened!This horrid experience we will definitely remember forever,my daughter also is in shock as I am,but for this two horribilis didn't cout all the special time or the fact that my young daughter was there and children are sensitive to all their experiences,If I knew I would of avoid going shopping at Daniels this Christmas Eve! I should of stop at Barbour shop because their stuff are wonderfully trained and wonderful human beings,they always treat us with much respect and dedication! Read moreMy partner and I have shared a bed now for the better part of 2 decades now, both around the age of 50 our sleep is important to us. However, recently we had been experiencing extreme heat over night, the kind that made you feel like a puddle in an active microwave.
As two individual’s who get’s up at 3am-5am, 6 days a week, to work in London; our rest is needed so we can continue to provide for our family and ourselves.
So we decided to head out to get a new mattress, recognising that the heat seemed to be amplified by the age old mattress we currently had.
Arriving at Daniels in Windsor, we consulted with one of their “Sleep Experts”, expressing our concerns, hoping they could resolve them.
We were fed our first false hope when the staff assured us that they knew how to resolve our sleeping dilemma, leading us towards his suggested mattress.
Naturally I’d expected the staff member would advise me to the more expensive range, as they always do, and that was okay with us. Like I said, our sleep is the support we need to carry out our daily routine and ensure us of a healthy and prosperous life. Ergo, I went along with it.
The spouts of hearty poetic sales pitching came in waves, claiming that the mattress would all but cure cancer. We took it for a spin (just the usual vampiric sleeping pose, nothing exotic), and were pleased enough with the general comfort of the bed, but obviously it was hard to gauge the actual affect on our nightly body temperature. So I pressed further, pleading with the staff member to focus primarily on the body temperature issues, and they ensured us this bed would eliminate the problem.
We purchased the Performance SuperSoft 270 (Mammoth - “The Science of Comfort”) mattress from Daniels in Windsor, for a total of £1400.00. A lot to spend on a mattress, I know, but if we could finally get some shut-eye, it’d be worth it.
The delivery was due a week later, which was fine, I have patience. Although this is largely tested when the delivery does not turn up and no one contacts us to inform of any changes, especially as this required taking a day off work.
Alas, the mattress arrived a week later, after continuously chasing up Daniels.
Our first night was not good. The heat issue had not improved, and whats more, the mattress smelt like plastic that was somehow both wet and burnt at the same time… We’d be awaken by the heat, and kept up by the smell. It got so bad we have to sleep in a different room.
Swiftly returning to Daniels, my patience had since past, as I sternly argued with the employee regarding the matter. They ensured me it was normal that the bed might need a few weeks to break in, and the smell would fade.
Fair enough. We waited a week.
What fools we were.
Over a month later and the same issues still occurred. We’d even taken to spraying the mattress with various fabric fresheners and lighting scented candles. I got so furious that I decided to unzip the whole casing and look at the £1400.00 worth of materials inside that were meant to be such “advanced mattress technology”.
What was inside shocked me so deeply, it deserved a photoshoot. I have attached a few pictures. The content of the mattress was just a couple of lumps of foam.
We had paid enough money to cover our commercial vehicle insurance for a year; in exchange for a few layers of smelly foam that essentially turned our sleep experience into sweaty toaster.
What has the world come to? Charging this kind of price, and undelivering to this degree.

Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. Awful customer service if you can call it that. This is the second faulty my mattress and even though the inspector informed us the mattress had dipped lower than it should and I mentioned that the Sleepeaze mattress had become so hard. Daniel Department Store do not want to know. Apart from the dipping the mattress has become so hard and uncomfortable to sleep on that my daughter cannot sleep on it as it has caused pain and discomfort in her lower back and caused all over body discomfort. I don’t see the point of an inspection if the retailer does not take this into consideration. When I visited Daniel Department store I was avoided and fobbed off. When I emailed to express my feelings someone left a missed call and didn’t leave a voicemail. Might I add this is the second mattress in less than a year. I have been reading other reviews and someone had a similar issue with a Mammoth mattress. And because my niece accidentally split juice on the mattress when I had taken off the bedding to wash allowing the mattress to air and it stained even though we tried to clean it up straight away. This is Daniels excuse for not replacing or issuing a refund.the mattress is faulty it’s not like it could be reused. This is way companies have insurance!!! I should have pushed for a refund for the first mattress. Avoid this store at all costs. Do bother trying to support the local high street shops. Do you think they would have treated the Royal Family in this way if they had purchased a bed??? Sub-part over rated products at exorbitant prices. Don’t be fooled by the team reaching out as they won’t do anything. My daughter works for the NHS and has three jobs to survive. They clearly don’t understand the sales of goods act!! Or respect their reputation or their customers. Should have gone to Dreams or Furniture Village....
