This is our second visit to Bewiched and it was a polar opposite to our first visit. Today there was one man drinking his coffee working at a large desk when we arrived. So quiet considering it’s lunchtime. Someone did join him while we were here but both working. A group of 3 ahead of us in the queue here for a meeting too. One of the ladies was checking out the sandwich display and told us it was completely empty (we couldn’t see it as it was around the corner). Very poor choice of cakes too. We ordered coffees and decided to split the last vegan sausage roll. I asked for it to be heated and cut in two. When we sat down to enjoy our coffees and sausage roll both were lukewarm. In fact only the outside of the sausage roll was warm. The inside was completely cold. Unappetizing! Our coffees were also cold. The two business men who were behind us in the queue left as the service was so slow. Such a lovely place but with poor choices, very slow service (one young lady who didn’t appear to want to be here!) and lukewarm food and drink next time I’ll go to Costa....

Got in line, when it was our turn to go up, batista that was serving us was waving her hand over the counter in our faces to get our attention after 2 seconds of talking between us. She took our items, as she did I asked about getting an almond croissant heated up, she said to wait while she put our other items into the register, wasn't asking a price just curious as to whether they heat them up or not.
Sausage roll I had was made with very cheap Sausages, bacon wasn't great but bacon is bacon, Malteser slice was stale, and my rolo hot chocolate had foil in the bottom of my drink.
Overall horrible experience and won't be visiting again.
Will note the other staff we dealt with were friendly enough, just for clarity, and to not pass...
Read moreA serendipititious discovery when we went to the Passport office in Peterborough. The cafe is just next to the Sand Martin House multi storey car park. High ceilings, rustic brick walls and a huge room with well space tables with excellent coffee and a decent choice of sandwiches makes this a great place to sit and pass the time. Plenty of character and the huge coffee bean roaster and grinder in the corner adds to this. Clean toilet although unisex + disabled friendly. Service was very pleasant, the coffee was good and we saw quite a few people who were obviously working in the nearby office drop in to pick up their on- the- go coffee before work. Would have loved to stay longer but had to get to our...
