if I could give a 0 point, it would be 0. First time in my life, I was bullied by staff. As a group, we sat at a table in front of the pub ( a deck). We were smoking there, and the bouncer warned us you cannot smoke here, then we went down the road to smoke ( we followed the rules). 5 min later another group started to smoke; my friend asked the guy; why we are not allowed to smoke, but they are allowed. He said that they can smoke, but you cannot. This double standard annoyed us. To protest my friend started to smoke then, the staff started to throw my bag and swear ( we are with a lady at the table) and poured my friend's drink and tried to touch my girlfriend. We wanted to talk with the manager, and he did not do anything. If some people are allowed to do something but others are not, I call it a double standard. If someone from another ethnicity is exposed to such a thing, I call it racism. And the manager preferred to be quiet...
Read moreI wish I could have got in to find out how the drinks were. My family birthday party (grandparents and 20something kids) was prevented from entering. Not by the security staff (who were lovely), but by a manager who was really rude, didn’t provide any reason and who the security staff member clearly disagreed with too.

Read moreWent to the Blue Boar to try another pub in York. So many good pubs in York. Decided to have some lunch, unfortunately the melts were sold out or not available so we opted for a couple of sandwiches fish finger and chicken goujon which came with fries and salad which had a a nice dressing on it. My partner as usual asked an obscure question which the young lady behind the bar had to go and ask another member of staff to confirm. Very decently priced I thought for York and in this current climate at £7.75 per sandwich....
