Blue Ginger Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in England

Unfortunately I had an allergic reaction to my meal. I have been eating here for over 8 years without problem but on this occasion I was very ill. I ordered items that I have previously eaten here, poppadom's & dips, onion bhaji starter, karahi vegetable curry & egg fried rice and chips.

Something in my meal wasn't wheat free or gluten free, my reaction was so swift and so severe that it cannot be attributed to cross contamination.

I was extremely poorly for weeks, and months later I am still suffering lingering symptoms. As soon as I felt up to it I contacted them to find out if maybe they had changed ingredients, or made a mistake, although I always ask them to confirm each dish is gluten free when I order.

I do understand that mistakes can happen, however they didn't respond, despite me sending several emails and filling in the contact form on their website. So sadly I haven't been able to go since, and have lost all confidence to ever go again.

I am extremely disappointed, this was my go-to restaurant for family meals, special occasions, and entertaining clients. I have always recommended the restaurant to other people but now I feel it is my duty to warn other people with allergies that they...

Unfortunately, after being told it was a very good curry here, we have left feeling disappointed.

Waiter apologised for spilling the drinks before he had even taken them from the tray, he then, on his very first attempt, proceeded to spill coke all over the table cloth, luckily missing us.

The curries all tasted strange, my Pathia had a very strong taste of Heinz Tomato Ketchup, the kids Korma’s were somehow spicy we couldn’t work out what gave them the spiciness, we thought perhaps ginger.

Poppadoms, chips and Nan bread were OK. Which was nice.

Poor service, very inattentive. Took ages to get anyone’s attention.

All in all I think they’re trying too hard to be edgy and contemporary.

Needless to say we won’t be going again, those of you who frequent the place often, good luck to you but I suggest to try elsewhere to see how good curry can...
