Loved it here today, three of us shared the lunch special of 3 plates each for £16.95. Fantastic value! Our total bill with drinks, of wine, sherry and beer was £105.75. Connor our server was lovely. Must try dishes are 'Pig cheeks and mash' , definitely the Aubergine and honey, croquettes, really creamy and crisp, 'Pisto, veg and quail eggs'. Initially I thought the salads came out a bit late in service however in hindsight they made a welcome palate cleanser part way through. Feedback was given to Connor about the smoked anchovies and the baby gem presentation, needs more thought, but the gorgeous red pepper sauce with almond could be really developed by chef, we need more of that stuff. Also we need more sherries please, there were only 2 on the menu, PX and a Manxanilla, which was excellent. We couldn't manage dessert today so we didn't try the PX. Thanks to you guys for a...

Went back to 1 of our favourite resterants for a pre-show at the Cathedral (UV Orchestra). Kind of expecting the same great food we had the time prior - massively disappointed! It wasn't a random dish either. We ordered 7 separate tapas dishes and returned 3 of them. The ones we did eat were very bland to say the least. The Spanish stew was pretty much inedible, and the Manchego Cauliflower Cheese tasted as like it was made by someone's 1st time cooking - littererally awful. Massively disappointed in all, and I'm never 1 for bad reviews. The resteraunt is not cheap, we have always loved the food at Bodegas, but I'm sad to say I will not be visiting again. The bill still finished at £50 with 2 drinks included. However, I was disappointed they charged for any of it concidering. I had to leave the resteraunt and get a sandwich from the shop prior to attending our event. Very...

First time we've visited this tapas restaurant, but it certainly won't be the last! We booked an early table as we were going on to the theatre afterwards, but despite being early evening it was still busy - a good sign surely. Checked in by a very friendly and efficient young lady and shown our table. Placed our order of 5 tapas between us with an equally friendly young lady. The food was delivered promptly, but not too quick as to feel rushed, and was piping hot. We had bread and olives, and patatas bravas to start, with pig's cheek, lamb and fried aubergine in honey for mains. The pig's cheek deserves special mention - absolutely superb - the meat just fell apart and the gravy and mash enhanced it well. Still had room for dessert of chocolate flan and bread and butter pudding, both of which were excellent. So - 5 tapas, 2 desserts, 2 pints, 2 wines for £78 -...

Bodega was the last place we ate before lockdown and the first place we ate after lockdown and we have continued to patronise this friendly, laid back little restaurant every since. The food, wine and ambiance is fit for all occasions, whether a celebration or simply because your too tired to cook! There are staples on the menu, such as tortilla, but also seasonal variations which are always imaginative and never fail to please. Yesterday we tried the anchovies - very nice - but the highlight was the fried fish which was light as a feather, and beetroot with goat's cheese balls which finely balanced sweet earthy flavours with the sour and creamy goat's cheese. Perfect. All washed down the a very pleasant rosé. Do give Bodega a try, you won't be disappointed.

I recently visited Bodega 18 in Truro and was absolutely impressed. As a Spanish native, I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity and flavor of the food. Located just meters away from the cathedral in the city center, the restaurant offers a simple yet delicious menu. The calamari was cooked to perfection and truly delicious. It was my first time experiencing such authentic Spanish cuisine outside of Spain in the UK. Additionally, the portions are generous and offer good value for money. I highly recommend Bodega 18 to anyone looking for a genuine taste of Spain in Truro.
