After a long week and trying to find a bit of spice after getting withdrawal symptoms. Tried booking several Indian restaurants between st ives and Truro as we staying in st ives and not many people seemed to be to welcoming as we had 4 adults and 5 kids I think the other Resturant’s felt the spend wasn’t going to be big enough for them!!! In fact TRURO TANDOORI RESTAURANT & TAKEAWAY after me making the booking I received a phone call back and was told I MUST order 1 main per person minimum which I felt was a massive insult!! Firstly at what point did I ever say we were sharing food?? Been to 100’s of Indian Resturant’s in my time and never have I heard of this policy!! We all are suffering with the covid 19 situation but this is no way to speak or treat customers! So we skipped that Resturant!!

Well I’m so glad we went to Kathmando it was absolutely amazing the service the quality of the food being Asian myself I though was unreal!!! Pricing was fine, and having family in st ives and Truro after coming here for the last 14yrs plus have always struggled to find a nice Indian having tried the others! But this place will definitely see me again in fact every visit I make to Cornwall I will see these guys.

Just wanted to say a massive thanks for the food and service and will definitely see...

We were initially excited to try Kathmandu Palace, lured in by its promising reviews and a commendable food hygiene rating. However, our experience was far from satisfactory. The curry we ordered had an unmistakable taste reminiscent of a store-bought jar, lacking the authenticity and freshness we expected. Adding to the disappointment, the vegetables in the curry seemed aged and not at their prime.

The rice served alongside was bland and unappealing, failing to complement the main dish as it should. More concerning was the discovery of a hair in our curry, a glaring oversight in hygiene. The poppadoms, which should have been a crispy delight, turned out to be stale and inedible.

To top it off, the pricing felt unjustified. The portions were meager, not reflecting the premium we paid. We left most of our food untouched, feeling utterly let down. This dining experience was not just a letdown but a complete waste of our money. It was, frankly speaking, gross, and we are determined not to order from Kathmandu...

We have had take away from this restaurant before and really enjoyed it. Tonight we dined in and have to say the quality of food, service and general atmosphere was really good. I had a fish starter (I want to call it fish pakoda but I could be completely misfiring) lamb pahadi with Kathmandu aloo, and a garlic and coriander naan, it was among the best lamb dishes I have ever eaten. It was also the first time I had tried monkfish with the starter, it was delicious... I would describe myself as quite a picky eater, so it was really nice to try some completely new things and flavours and actually find them really satisfying.

The staff allow some customisations with some meals, not that I felt it necessary but it's always nice to know. Me and my partner felt welcomed, accommodated and really astounded with the food. Carry on doing all you're doing please, it was an...

We were visiting Truro for the weekend and stumbled across this gem of a Nepalese restaurant. The food was packed with flavour — beautifully spiced but not overpowering. I had the chicken momo to start, which were incredible — soft dumplings with a rich tomato chutney that had just the right amount of heat. For mains, I went with the lamb bhuteko, and it was honestly one of the tastiest dishes I’ve had in a long time. Service was warm and attentive without being intrusive. You can tell the staff genuinely care about the food and the experience. The atmosphere was relaxed and cozy, and everything felt very clean and well-kept. It’s not often you find Nepalese cuisine this well-executed outside of a big city — Kathmandu Palace is a real credit to Truro. Highly recommend booking ahead on weekends; it was pretty busy (a good sign!). Will definitely return next time we’re in Cornwall.

Went there tonight, but luckily before we went in we spotted a rat in their window going in and out of the food helping itself to some veg. Gent we spoke to did not sound surprised. Obviously cancelled our table. Update: Since leaving this review I have been in contact with the councils Environmental Health Dept. and they have notified me that they have visited the premise after I reported this issue to them. They have told me the restaurant has hired a pest control company, and there was no evidence of pest's by the time the council visited. The restaurant appears to be working to correct the issue I raised.

We had a wonderful dining experience here this Valentine's Day. The staff were delightful and the food was delicious. As a child, I have had Nepalese cuisine often so my expectations were high. We ordered chicken momos and chicken pakoda. The momos were good and the pakoda had the beautiful besan flavour. The chutneys that they came with were lip smacking. For the main, I went with Everest Lamb and my partner went for Rogan Josh. We paired them with different naans and Nepali beers. Everything went down a treat and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience there.
