A fantastic spot just a stone’s throw from the Cliffs Pavilion—Bucatini is the perfect pre-theatre lunch or dinner destination in Westcliff.
The service was excellent: friendly, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a stylish, modern interior that still feels cosy.
The food was impressive across the board. The Mozzarella Frittas were a real highlight—crispy, golden and full of flavour, served with a rich tomato sauce that paired beautifully. For mains, the Crab Linguine was the standout dish: creamy, fresh, and bursting with flavour. We also tried the penne with courgettes and pesto, which was tasty, though slightly outshone by the linguine. Everything was perfectly complemented by a chilled glass of Pinot Grigio, crisp and refreshing.
Overall, a great experience with quality food and excellent service. Just shy of 5 stars as a couple of dishes didn’t quite hit the same heights—but we’d definitely return.
Highly recommended if you’re in the area, especially before a show at...
Read moreLovely restaurant with Italian dining right next to the Cliffs Pavilion Theatre. Ideal for a pre- theatre meal. We were made to feel welcome and not rushed. I recommend booking as it is very popular. The food was really good. They accommodated my husbands request to remove the tomato from the sauce, a good sign of being made fresh to order. Our meals were freshly made and served piping hot. I can recommend the beautiful fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, olive oil, and basil dressing. Followed by spaghetti pescatore with garlic, onion, cherry tomatoes, parsley, olive oil, white wine, mussels , calamari, king prawns, and a touch of tomato sauce. My husband said the lemon sorbet was the best he'd had. They are disabled friendly with a slightly raised threshold. The only criticism is that the tables are a bit too close to use a wheelchair/walker. It is a bit noisy but to be expected on theatre evenings. I would...
Read moreWent here with my friend yesterday to have some dinner before a show, we got sat in the conservatory which was a little small but was okay. We were sat waiting for a good 20 minutes before someone came and took our drink or food order. Whilst waiting, we observed the waiting staff looking absolutely lost and seemed to have no idea what they were doing by walking around like a lost child, sometimes holding drinks/food not knowing who they were for. Our food took a while to arrive as one point we noticed a couple waiters pointing over at our table finally noticing we had sat there for a good half hour after ordering at this point and nothing was on our table.
When it did arrive, the food was very hot, which was good but seemed like it was put in a microwave to bring the heat back up as it seemed we were forgotten. The food itself was okay, it was nice & did the job but we probably won’t be...
