Not even a slightly good experience to be brutally honest. My girlfriend ordered the “Crispy Chicken Burger” which was supposed to come with “Rosemary and chive chicken fillet, smoked bacon, Barber’s of Somerset cheese snap, sticky bacon & ale jam and roasted garlic mayonnaise. Served with spicy mayo.” We were served by Julie first of all and when ordering we asked for the “spicy mayo” to be taken off and on receiving the burger it came with the spicy mayo in a pot on the side and none of the roasted garlic mayo OR the bacon and ale jam was actually on the burger. So rightfully so we asked for this to be taken back and for the sauce to be put back on the burger. Julie then took it upon herself to go into the kitchen and slap on a bit of normal mayo on top of the chicken and this was quite literally a dollop not even a sufficient amount of sauce. Following this we called over Eric who is an assistant manager and he said he would go sort it out and make a whole new burger. Then about 10 minutes and the other 5 meals finished later we received the burger finally and when opening this there was once again no sauce at all on this. So she reluctantly ate the burger as not wanting to cause any more of a fuss so I went to have a chat with Eric after all food was finished and he agreed to take the burger off the bill and I asked him if they are out of stock of these sauces and he said they are out of stock of one of them but he was not sure which one it was. If this is the case then why was the one in stock not then put on the burger anyways. Both times all that was asked was no spicy mayo and both times we received no sauce on the burger at all and a pot of spicy mayo alongside. It is an absolute joke to be honest and shocking service from Julie as she more or less didn’t listen to anything we asked which is not a hard request working in hospitality and also retail myself it is not hard to listen and tap a screen to make notes which they quite literally have round their necks. If there is a manager of any actual influence reading this I would recommend for Julie to undergo some extra training on grace and decorum along with customer service. Will not be coming again unfortunately as we have been here a few times and every time something was wrong. On the other hand Eric was quite helpful but also not very good listening skills as the burger still came with what we didn’t ask for and didn’t come with the essentials of the actual burger. I tried it myself and was very dry. Disgraceful to say the least...
Read moreWe arrived at 7pm (2 of us ) We’re shown to our table and our drinks order taken immediately and menus given to us .Drinks arrived instantly , we then waited another 30 minutes for our order to be taken We then waited about 35 /40 minutes for food to arrive .we asked after about 25 minutes where was our meal which we were told were busy you have to wait , do you want another drink ! ( the resturant was maybe 75% full I have been in there when much busier . My steak was cooked but cold! The herb butter on top still solid so very obvious it was even warm The vine tomatoes weren’t cooked the salad had no dressing and was wilted. We asked, the waitress to please to change it . The waitress was rude and kept telling us it’s Mother’s Day weekend it’s busy ( it was Saturday night not Mother’s Day ) She took away my Food , then came back with our chatty to say we hadn’t had to wait king as the check said we had only waited 35 minutes , we tried to say yes but we have been here since 7pm . She then just didn’t stop telling us we’re busy , you’re wrong you haven’t had to wait long at all . They are busy in the kitchen and and and … we didn’t react , smiled politely and said please bring me my food. She just got angrier and angrier digging herself into a bigger hole . It was our fault the staff were busy the kitchen was busy and we know when we arrived in the resturant and how long we had waited to be served . We were just left feeling accused of being in the wrong because they were busy , but honestly they weren’t that busy and even if they were it wasn’t her place to tell us basically we were lying about the time we waited or the food being cold ! Rude and not what anyone wants when paying for a meal of any type . The food was very mediocre , slapped down in front of us . We left feeling like we were wrong in wanting service or properly cooked good ! Even though we have been here before with slightly better service , we won’t be going again or recommending . I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are related for rude treatment and ping waiting times . If at the beginning we had been told service would be slow due to being busy maybe it would have all gone...
Read moreUsed the Bulls Head as we were staying overnight at the Premier Inn next door that has no dining facility, and were moved away from an empty area immediately we sat down, by a male gentleman, as…WE HAVE A PARTY OF 18 BOOKED IN THERE… but when I asked the male why it wasn’t set out as reserved then, he just ignored me and walked away. We sat elsewhere, and waited some further 8 - 10mins before he returned back to us…and placed 2menus and a drinks sheet in front of us and walked away again… Eventually (we had been in the pub for 22 mins by then) the other staff member came over and asked were we being served yet…we informed her NO, but she took our order and served us straight away…. We then waited a further 15minutes to get the food served, and the lady staff member went away to find out where it was. She returned only a few minutes later….with food in hand. This lady continued to serve us throughout the evening without ANY issues at all. When we paid for our meal, I asked the lady for her name, as I was going to go onto their website to compliment her on her service quality and politeness…..but that I would NOT give any praise at all to the elderly male who was totally the opposite in attitude to customers that the lady was….. So….to the polite, professional lady that served us in this pub…….thank you for your manners, politeness, and professionalism in your role….a pleasure to have you serve us…. Ladies name…Pauline……great service miss.
To the gentleman who was surly, impolite, ill mannered and very abrupt…….you need to look for a new job mate… Gents name (I believe) was Eric.. you need a job where you have NO customer contact.
How can I say these things about individuals as these people….because I am an INDEPENDENT PAID MYSTERY CUSTOMER that travels around premises as these on behalf of the brewery owners so they receive a professional, concise report on the staff, services and products in...
