Giuliano Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in England

Food was perfect, the chef definitely saved the day on this visit to Giulianos as the dining experience was poor (due to elements outside the restaurant s control). Upon entering the restaurant we were offered three tables, two next to the door or one next to a booth next to a group of people. To note the restaurant was dead.

Soon after being seated the group next to us where clearly getting on it with one member of the group being what can only be described as a cackle hag. This pretty much ruined our visit to Giulianos with having to deal with the incessant overly loud cackling throughout the meal as our table was backed right onto the booth. We had already started dining when th cackling commenced.

When your restaurant is dead please just let the customer sit where they want. I can appreciate you want the restaurant to seem busier than it is by having people sit in the vicinity of the front windows but I purposely head out mid week when restaurants are generally quieter to avoid situations like this arising.

Avoid this place for your function parties upstairs!! We had our daughter’s first birthday party here, we came to view the venue and told them we were looking to order pizzas from the restaurant and hire a small soft play in the corner for the babies, we were told this was no problem so went ahead and booked the room. The staff have been rude to us on the run up to the party, gave us the incorrect timings and on the evening before the party told us that there has been a misunderstanding and they don’t offer the room for parties usually and there will be a minimum spend of £700 which was never mentioned to us. Absolutely disgusted in the attitude of the staff and was rushed out of the room before the party had finished. Our soft play hire turned up and they were told that the soft play would be left outside in the rain if not collected on time. Guests that turned up 10 mins late to the party were told that they were late by the staff as they walked in. Where I do I start We arrived and were greeted and seated the place is beautiful lovely decor nice and clean once seated we looked at the menus and an older waiter came for drinks order after they arrived about 5 minutes passed same waiter came for food order as we had children one was being picky we placed order for everyone false whilst my wife choose for the other child whilst looking his was tapping on the ipad always trying to rush food ordered and eventually came not much waiting that was good starter seemed slightly watery ( garlic bread with cheese and tomato on) but was OK yhenbthe mains came lovely food I had pizza diabolo not as spicy as I had had before elsewhere but was nice asked for some food to be boxed as children couldn't eat all and got bill nit asked if options service charge was OK just charged it.
