Lovely cafe in the centre of Morpeth. Food is always lovely. It had been a while since we had been so I suggested it to mum today for lunch. The menu is plentiful with lots of specials on the boards around the cafe. It is small and can get busy in the summer they have a lovely outdoor space aswell with extra tables. Today mum had a pear walnut and Stilton salad which looked lovely and according to mum was lovely. I had a bacon & Brie toastie which was done on a thick slab of tiger bread and very substantial. The server was very helpful with my intolerances and said they would request my food with no slaw on the side as to not contaminate my food. We went for the cheese and onion toastie, the ham and cheese quiche and the CROISSANTWICH (at least I think that’s how you spell it!) from the special board. It came filled with scrambled eggs, bacon and tomato but there were also other filling options.
The atmosphere was calming and welcoming, with a snug in the window to enjoy a coffee on. The service was excellent and the food came quickly (but not too quickly!). All in all a very comfortable experience.
