Looking at the old photos on the inside walls, the place looked lovely in the old day. Shame it could do with a spruce up now. Service was slow and appeared disorganised. We ordered two Americanos, no milk, no sugar and two sausage sandwiches, (buns) one sauce, one without. Staff got involved with other tasks, so had to wait for two simple, straight forward coffees. Told staff we'd be sitting outside when sandwiches were ready. Had to wait a while again. One lad brought wrong order, we asked where ours was, as we'd finished our coffees. When the sandwiches eventually came, both had sauce in and the buns were rubbery, as if they'd been defrosted in a microwave and they were dry without butter or spread. We ate the sausages and left the buns. Great shame, for a place that could have a lot...

Ordered a meal for three. Jacket potato was cold. Cheese sandwich was 2 pieces of bread with no butter and grated cheese, all fell straight out. Peas with pie and peas were tepid. Cappucino and latte were nice. Fruitshoot was...a fruit shoot fine and good to have branded. I wouldn't have stayed for an ice cream but our little girl was promised one so we stayed. Ice cream was ok but nothing special. The lucky flavour had colours in to make it rainbow coloured, very nice but might have mentioned the blue was mint as it put the four year old off her icecream gkven they are not overly keen on strong flavours. Could be good, it's a bit quirky. Not sure what it says about all the other cafes in the local area if this is number 2 on...

This is an amazing cafe on virtually on the seafront with views looking out onto the beach and sea. This cafe has been passed down through the same family through the generations and thankfully they have preserved the seaside 50/60s character of the place. The cafe was clean and cosy We stayed for coffee and fruit scones which we enjoyed and importantly no obtrusive background music, though i did notice some nice looking retro speakers on the wall and could imagine how 50s playlist (at little volume) would go down a treat I felt that the place could be zapped up a little to attract a younger clientele. Maybe vegan options even a neon sign to entice folk on those dark winter days . Great place and we'll...

The Cafe that time forgot, has been refurbished but keeping that original 1930's theme. Subtle pictures upon the walls brought my wife to tears as the memories flooded back of trips here with her grandmother. Several years ago I would have said that this on outdated cafe but now its a wonderful trip back in time with even a traditional door chime as you walk inside. Good to see the cafe still in the family and Frank Bertorelli 4th generation even stopped to chat. I have never seen it so busy and hope it continues.

Set in a quiet seaside town where visitors and locals alike come to mix. With a gorgeous beach and the North Sea as a backdrop, as well as 'The Couple', it's a great place to be to while away some hours and relaxing. It's been ages since these guys could open, but as soon as they did we've been back for the usual 1st class coffee, cakes, sandwiches and typical Northumbrian welcome. We've missed you! Welcome back!!!
