Though we would try this for lunch on Friday it was busy when we arrived at half 1 so a short wait for a table but the staff were friendly and helpful and turned the table over super quick, then we had the choice for what to eat! With cooked breakfasts, jacket spuds and a range of home made meals there was definitely something for everyone! After recommendations from the staff as we didn't know what to get I went with the home made chicken nuggets, wedges and beans and the OH went for the triple cheese chicken burger! My nuggets were tasty but 'different' as they had been made also with potato and onion, so it took a bit for my brain to get over the texture but they were tasty. I did however have food envy with the husband's burger! A large chicken breast which we then found out had been coated in crushed Doritos to add to the cheese flavour it looked amazing and the husband says it tasted that way too!
We will be going back to try out the large all day breakfast as we saw that come out for someone else and they definitely didn't scrimp on the food - double of everything!
Great prices too! So even better great food for a...
Read moreStarting with the positives, my jacket potato with 2 fillings was mostly fine. That's it for the positives though. I had a warm Diet Pepsi, and there was no ice. No ice in a cafe?? I asked for a cold normal Coke, which was indeed cold but not really what I wanted. So I was a little surprised I was charged for it, even if I had opened the Diet Coke. I asked for margarine or similar for my jacket potato instead of butter. Nope, none of that either, so I ate it "dry". It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. The salad on the side had no dressing, just bits of undressed lettuce and peppers. Service not great either: there were only half a dozen people in the cafe, but not a hello when we walked in. When I went to pay, the waitress walked off with a plate, had a chat with the chef and only then came back, while I hung around at the counter. And no I'm afraid I didn't tip. Look, this isn't the worst place in the world, but it really needs to...
Read moreExcuse the pun but the ingredients you need for an excellent place to eat are customer service and well cooked food. The Fresh Fox team excel with both. First visit for us as a family and we will definitely be back. The young waitress was brilliant and very friendly and the owner is a really pleasant chap. We ordered two little brekkies with, quoting our youngest, a very tasty sausage, a chicken wrap and mushroom soup that was delicious. Everything apart from fish fingers is homemade. The coffee is also excellent. If you are in Saltash we recommend a visit. You will not be disappointed and will also be supporting a local business. They are also open...
