Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

Racially discriminated at this establishment.

The family and I decided to go to the cinema’s as part of my child’s birthday celebration. On entering the establishment my wife went to order a hot drink and bottles of water from the Costa which is managed by Odeon. My wife asked the young man behind the counter for information on herbal teas, which was answered but he then abruptly walked off without taking her order. He returns to the serve some women which was behind my wife in the queue. The difference between my wife and the women he choose to serve was their racially identity. He could not pretend he had not seen my wife as he had just spoken to her moments ago. Fortunately an elder white women who had been in front of my wife was brave enough to support my wife when asked who had been in the queue first. Tried to follow the complaints procedure with the Odeon manager, who we gave sometime to investigate the mater as we watched a movie.

Her findings after investigating was he was a good member of staff and she wouldn’t be able to force him to apologise. Totally dissatisfied with how the matter was handled. Will be taking this further. Direct race discrimination

As it's part of Costa coffee I had 23 Costa free drinks to finish them so every day deferent place to have my coffee . Ones I entered here they said I have to pay . And my free coffees are not valid any more . And with any coffee COSTa gives you free Been . I said scan my club card for been . She said we don't do that instead she gave a recipe to go another Costa shop for scanning lol . And Everyone was angery I don't know on me or something happened before me . We asked to clean up the table it makes us run out of the place . No one cleaned it out. So it was first experience in the UK like this . Went in with some friends on the weekend of that massive heatwave and I have to say the staff did exceptionally well for having been so busy that customers were almost lining up outside the door all wanting cold drinks. we waited but the service was great they got all our drinks right and when the queue was finished they cleaned which was great seeing as it was very busy and some people can be messy without caring that others have to sit there too but they got straight to it when they could.
