What started off as a pleasant visit to this cafe soon turned out to be an expensive waste of money. Four of us went in today after a very traumatic morning. We ordered a childs meal and two sandwiches. One of these was called a posh chicken sandwich off the specials board.. When it arrived it was a deep fried greasy chicken piece in breadcrumbs on a ciabatta roll with some greenery on it. The falafals in the wrap were also deep fried and greasy and to top it off we ordered two hash browns which had obviously been left in the fryer too long. We were all hungry and on a time limit so didn't want to wait any longer for more food so didn't bother complaining. However the best was yet to come After asking for some ketchup and mayo I took the small pots back to the table and my 5 year old granddaughter was dipping her chips in the sauce when a waitress squeezed in to our table and leaned over toward the half empty pot of ketchup and said have you finished with that? I thought she meant the empty plates so I said yes and then she picked up the ketchup pot and proceeded to take it to another table. When I realised I said oh no she hasn't finished her chips yet, so she came back and grunted, do you want any more, we said yes so she spooned one tea spoon onto my granddaughters plate The other child then got the remains of the ketchup which I hasten to add had my granddaughters Double dipping fingers in it I did comment to the other adult whose child had been given this ketchup and she did oh well they are closing soon they don't want to dirty another dish. I'm disgusted with this behavior and this person should be sent on a good hygiene course. I do hope the other child hasn't caught a cold from my granddaughter. If they have I suggest they direct their complaint to the greasy soon in Knutsford. Oh yes my daughter did complain while I was paying and was met with blank faces and no appology. I paid £30 for this sub standard food and low standard service ADDITION AFTER REPLY: thank you for the 5p which I did have but was told not to worry about and she took it out of the tips dish. I wasn't given the chance to even look in my pocket. I presumed after what I had been told that she was in a hurry to close! Also there was, categorically, one piece of deep fried...
Read moreI unfortunately left here in tears today. My friend had recommended a meet up here as it’s a well known Dog friendly cafe in the area and as a new dog owner of a rescue we are trying to socialise him. The very lovely waitress who served us today was incredibly kind and professional however a male member of kitchen staff marched over to our table and told me to “keep my dog quiet as he is disturbing everyone”. My dog is admittedly excitable and is learning how to behave in a social environment and had let out a few yelps which he ceased when I stroked him or when I told him to be quiet. The staff member was so unpleasant that I just burst into tears and immediately left the cafe, leaving my friend to sort out what had happened. She was advised by the lovely waitress that no complaints had been received and that we are in fact welcome back any time. I’m so upset though that I don’t think I’ll ever be going there again. So incredibly rude and hurtful and totally unnecessary. If the owners have a dog friendly policy then this member of staff simply isn’t...
Read moreFood was lovely, but simply not enough, for £7.50 in a cafe for a meal, hot pot with mash, was more like a kids meal, I've eaten it in about 3 minutes and I'm still hungry.
Review now edited:- Your response to my review is very rude, your trying to tell me that I felt the takeaway box was upside down? If you don't know what way a takeaway box is supposed to be used, may I ask you get some training/professional help? My food was in the lid of the takeaway box love, which means I get less food in it, that's why you swapped it, and I didn't want a Vienna roll, I wanted hot pot and for seven pound fifty, a decent portion. Very unprofessional response, you serve children's sized portions and charge top dollar for it, never in my life will I step foot in your establishment in my life...
