upon arrival as typical in all restaurants and pubs you expect a friendly greeting and are shown to where you will be seated. however this was not the case both the two staff members working saw us and decided to leave us waiting for 5 minutes so we had to go to the bar and wait another 5 minutes to be seen and shown to our table. Once sat down myself and my girlfriend ordered a three course meal including: chicken wings, lamb koftas to start following we both had the fish and chips and for desert we had two hot chocolates and two sticky toffee pudding with cream to begin with the starters were extremely lack luster and disappointing, we found the chicken wings flavourless and were over cooked. Moving onto the lamb koftas these were uncooked on the inside and over cooked on the outside this shows that they cooked these on a very high heat and did not allow them to be cooked through. With both of these started they were presented with a garish of rocket which was not necessary as it did not add any flavour. Next we had our mains and these were okay the fish was pleasant and the mushy peas were very nice despite this they still managed to mess it up with the portion of chips being extremely small couldn’t even feed a child so we had to go up to the bar and ask for more. still felt like for the price of £12.50 wasn’t worth it. lastly dessert didn’t leave us wanting to come back for more the two sticky toffee pudding tasted artificial and the hot chocolate’s lacked in flavour too. Overall I’d give the angel a 2/5 stars and wouldn’t recommend coming back or visiting.

Stopped off here for our evening meal and were happy with the food, prices and service received. The waitress who served us was very busy but this didn't stop her from being really pleasant with every customer. The food was tasty and of sufficient quantity. I had steak pie with chips and gravy, followed by sticky toffee pudding. I did find the pudding on the sweet side but there was sufficient custard to minimise the sweetness.

Well what can i say me and family were visiting and came across this pub it said on the sign free drink and ice cream with kids meals so we decided to eat here not expecting to much. When our food came out it was delicious and the staff were really helpful and friendly will definitely reccomend this place to all my friends and family absolute spot on. Food wasnt overpriced either and cost 40 quid for a family of four.

I'll start with the good points. Lovely pub food , nice atmosphere and cheap drinks. However... I was very disappointed as the menu has been changed and pub grub has been changed into something sounding fancy and hence the prices for eating in once a lovely reasonably priced pub have rise d to prices that of a restaurant in knutsford! For example I went with 2 other family members and for price for a drink of lemonade each , a shared starter , main( lovely) and desert(nothing special) reached around £45 all together ! Mains are now around £8/9 each however they do have a offer of ''2 for £13' which was originally 2 for £10 and then few months ago was 2 for £12 before rising to the incredible 2 for £13 (never heard such as thing). Therefore I am very disappointed with the now considered expensive pub lunch although very nice seasoned chicken with peas and bacon mash but couldn't enjoy as much as I was worrying about the bill.

Another issue I have to raise is the unfriendly and miserable bar staff. This visit was not the only occasion where the bar staff have been dull , miserable and made me feel awkward and giving us an less enjoyable experience. However the actual waitress was very friendly!

Overall , if you are planning ongoing to a restaurant priced pub with lovely food , I would go a time when its busier with a better vibe , and drinks are reasonable still this pub is defiantly worth a visit. I will be going back there in the future as I did enjoy the food , I just wish the prices would stop increasing potentially ruining the idea of lovely reasonably priced pub food andcould result in less customers, in the future , bring back 2 for £10/12...

The location is great, right in the middle of Knutsford, with cheap parking nearby, but the room was very tired and dated and in need of refreshing. The floor boards were extremely creaky and it was impossible to walk around the room without making a lot of noise and the same noise could be heard from other rooms (ear plugs recommended). The towels provided were bath towels rather than bath sheets so take your own towels if you like to wrap yourself up in one. Cereal packets, individual milk bottle and fruit were available for breakfast, which was a nice touch. |I was there two nights and one of the nights cost £100 which was a bit steep for such a basic double room in much need of refreshing. Although I wasn’t really worried about it, the cleaners never came into the room to clear dishes away or replenish coffee or toilet paper etc (only a little toilet paper had been provided which just about lasted). It would have been nice to be advised that they wouldn’t be coming in. |At night when the pub is closed entrance to the rooms is via a door at the rear of the property. There were no details provided about who to contact out of hours in the case of an emergency. Thankfully nothing urgent arose but it would have been reassuring to...
