Worst restaurant. This was the only restaurant that had availability on mother's Day, which I now know why.
Firstly the restaurant is old, dated and dirty. The table we got was wet from a previous spilt drink, not cleaned and we were given old wobbly chairs.
The staff are just rude, unattentive, ignore you, snatch menus from you and tell you lies. The food is really not worth the waiting time or money.
When w got there I told our waiter that I had an airport run to do, which allowed me well over 1hr 20m before I had to leave the restaurant. The waiter I told said they will prioritise my meal for me which I thought was quite nice. After waiting patiently for 30mins I asked the waiter "how long until the food comes out". He told me "it's just coming now". Which I thought gave me enough time to eat and go do my airport run.
Waiting for another 10 mins I tried to ask the same waiter as he was walking passed our table. He clearly saw me and heard me, but ignored me and walked off. At this point I got up and went to the front of the restaurant to ask another waiter how long until the food came out. He told me the same thing that "it's coming now". So I sat back down and waited patiently.
It's now been an hour since we placed our order and there was still no food. So I had asked the woman at the front of the restaurant this time that our food still hadn't come although we've been waiting an hour. She then tells me it's coming out now. An hour and 10 minutes later, there was still no food. Now annoyed, hungry and late i ended up leaving the restaurant telling them to cancel my meal. To which they said they can't as the order has been made and I need to pay.
This restaurant is a joke and you should avoid at all cost especially if...
Read moreEating at a restaurant should be an enjoyable experience. When we arrived here we were seated at a cold dark part of the restaurant where there were no other people. I quickly realised why it was freezing and the radiators didn’t work. I asked to put them on to which the waiter probably knew would do nothing and there I sat believing it would warm up. Please note I had a two year old with me, and I began to sit there fuming that they could seat people in such a manner. We had our coats on throughout lunch! Ok moving onto the food now this was nothing to write home about, we were tourists in Windsor and my husband ordered the steak to which the waiter asked would you like chips with that? This was misleading and made it seem the chips were included. The chips were an additional cost to the £30 dish which was a Chewy big slab of meat! My pasta dish was lovely mind you, but this was penne ariabatta, you can’t go wrong ! The staff were nice and attempting to make up for the fact they had seated us on an iceberg, but the lack of not apologising or even offering a better table is in my opinion not worth calling itself a restaurant. Ok so now the bill comes, buyer beware! We had a Prosecco, wine, apple juice, penne main, steak main and a coffee. (Just to keep warm) oh and let’s not forget the chips, this came to £91!!!! What a joke for drab and dreary decor with no atmosphere, freezing temperatures indoor and no baby changing table. Think twice about coming here. To the owners I urge you not to seat people in that area it ruined our Sunday afternoon and it took me four hours to warm my body up! Never...
Read moreWhat can I say! We have just dined here and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish!
We hadn’t booked as we had just arrived in Windsor for a few days break, and our hotel recommended Don Beni to us, and with it being literally moments away, and Italian being my favourite food, we could not say no!
They had a large party booked but happily fitted us in before they arrived. We were not rushed in anyway and was allowed to enjoy our drinks and meal.
They made us immediately welcome, wonderfully friendly staff, perfect atmosphere, just everything about it screams you would have a lovely evening,
Then there was the food, I eat a lot of Italian food, and I can honestly say, this was genuinely THE best Italian I have eaten.
I have the mozzarella salad to start, followed by the Gnocci and the Tiramisu to finish, my partner had king prawns in chill and tomato sauce followed by king prawn pizza, we also had garlic, tomato, pesto and buratta bread as a side.
I would move to Windsor to have this absolute gem in my doorstep!
So a huge thank you to all the wonderful, friendly staff, and of course the chef for making our first evening here as perfect as it could be!
We can...
