If you want something to eat, that is not microwave cooked. Definitely come and visit this place in Windsor. I've been here 3 times already, and every time food and service are on Michelin star restaurant level. Certainly, I will come back. Lemon sole meunière was absolutely amazing.

Update: Usually, when i do like a restaurant, i come back until they F...up.. and usually they do at some point. So this time was that time.

We came back to this place in a few weeks' time . Menu slightly changed. But we chose something from the old menu, i think. When we came, waiting time was insignificant. And yes , I've booked the table in advance. I never been in "basement" - i never thought it was existing. That basement was quite cosy with open double doors river view.

It was quite warm when we came , but our table was booked at 20:15 and it became quite quickly from nicely worm cosy. To cold, lots of flies coming from outside river.

About the food. Starter was from old menu , calamari. But for some reason, they just dumped sauce on top without asking us- previously, they were bringing it with separate little sauce plate... I like previously.

Usually, i do not order American dishes in French restaurants or visa versa. But this time we thought if they cooked so amazingly french dishes, they must be making all the menu like that.

Yes.... I was right in not ordering steak in French restaurant.... We got that 22oz steak with 2 sides and 2 chips (came with french frie, not chips, ye, theree is a difference) that's meant to be food for 2 . And it was. indeed for 2. Enough food for 2. Only... One thing... One main thing -...... Why do you ask ho you want your steak 🥩 if you do not care - just cooking as you want. We wanted it as medium rare. Bu I got it RARE. I don't know if it wa a waiter's mistake or chefs. Doesn't matter.... We got what we got. I took 1 star off from this review for the reason that the steak was cooked incorrectly. For £58 that could be done better. I will give this restaurant one more chance, to improve and if they fail , i will find another restaurant. "Plenty fish outside."

Another update: I've been here several more times since the last update. There have been ups and downs, and yet I keep coming back - so it...

‘Unlimited Frites’ … Until you actually want some!

When ordering, the waiter proudly mentioned that unlimited frites came with my meal, though his enthusiasm clearly didn’t survive the first refill. Or the second. The portion sizes of the meals ordered were very stingy for the money paid and of questionable quality. The second portion of frites they proudly said “this is a double portion” but think they gave this because it was getting busier and to stop me from placing further orders. But let’s face it, they did so because I cleaned the first portion with ease (you get more with a McDonald’s happy meal for Côte’s standard portion now, though McDonald’s fries are hands down better by comparison, so that’s saying something).

They’re not frites either, let’s be honest, they’re now sadly more resembling chips, and rather over fried ones at that. When I asked for a second portion, I got a “cheeky” comment instead of, well, chips. The follow-up portions (and the gravy) then took their sweet time, as if they were being couriered from Lyon.

The food was questionable, but the service made “unlimited” feel more like a broken promise than a perk. Not sure if there will be a next time Côte, but I’ll settle for limited fries and unlimited manners. Shame really as I last came to this very branch only in August 2025, some 6 weeks earlier and both the food, quality and service were much better. Côte has certainly proven it’s gone downhill recently (and quickly) with this visit and I won’t be rushing back or rushing to recommend.

*In response to Côte Windsors review, thank you for the response - though just to clarify, my issue wasn’t with the menu innovation or recipe sourcing, but with the unwarranted attitude served alongside the chips.

Being told I was “cheeky” for asking for a refill on unlimited frites (which, let’s be honest, were chunky chips in disguise) was an interesting interpretation of hospitality. The follow-ups then taking an age to arrive didn’t quite elevate the experience either.

If Côte’s “bright future” includes rethinking what unlimited means - and perhaps offering seconds without side-eye - then I’d be happy to give it another go. But on the last visit I’d say that’s going to take...

I LOVE Côte, it’s one of my favourite places to visit for brunch/lunch at the Reading and Henley branch. I was meeting my brother for lunch today so being a huge fan, I highly recommended Côte in Windsor thinking that the level of service and food would be the same that I have experienced at the other branches. Sadly, I was really disappointed. We sat for 20 minutes before my brother went to find someone to take our order, so that wasn’t a great start. When our food arrived, by brother asked for the side salad to be changed as it had avocado in it, he’s not a fan, and it didn’t state on the menu that it would include it. The server took it away to replace it, never for the salad to return, so my brother literally had half a chicken for his lunch as he can’t eat chips. Another server did say she would follow it up, but never checked again to see if we received it until she came to clear the tables. My Côte burger was nothing to write home about, instead of pickles in the burger, someone had included cucumber (absolute monstrosity!!) and the Brie was too tiny strips that barely added any flavour, pretty poor. We were not asked if we wanted any sauces, and as the servers were like unicorns, there was no one to ask. The presentation of the food was disappointing too. The chips looked like they’d been thrown onto the plates, everyone had different amounts. The chicken the other three had was ok, but that said, we did ask for the £10 service charge to be removed as the restaurant certainly didn’t earn that today. We went elsewhere for pudding as we sat for another 30 minutes before we saw anyone again, so just got the bill. We will be goi by to Browns in Windsor next...

I recently visited Coté Brasserie near Windsor with a view of the river and let me tell you, it was an experience to remember! Everything was just perfect - from the stunning view to the exceptional quality of food and service. My dining experience kicked off with some amazing appetizers. The steak tartare and baked camembert were phenomenal! The flavors were bursting with every bite and it was evident that the ingredients used were of the freshest and highest quality. Moving on to the main course, the tuna was cooked to perfection and the presentation was impeccable. It was cooked just right, with the perfect amount of seasoning and paired well with the sides. It was evident that each dish was expertly crafted and the attention to detail was simply remarkable. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and intimate, perfect for a quiet dinner with your loved ones. What I particularly loved was the fact that the restaurant overlooked the river. It was a beautiful and serene view that immediately added a relaxing vibe to the ambiance. The service was also top-notch. The staff was friendly and approachable, and they made our dining experience even more delightful by being attentive to our every need. All in all, Coté Brasserie definitely deserves a five-star rating for their outstanding food, exceptional service, and serene ambiance. It's a must-visit restaurant if you're ever in the Windsor area.

Firstly, located next to the windsor and eton bridge the location is pretty great. We were hoping the food and service would at least match it and we were happily proved right. Although it was busy we were promptly found a table by a window and treated very well, by well trained staff. The food was also able to match our expectations. We started with a classic French onion soup and it was the perfect balance of tasty rich flavoured soup and a nice price of crusty bread layered in cheese. This gave the soup a lovely texture and on a cold day, the soup and melting cheese hit the spot. For a main we had a minute steak and fries and I have to say this was pretty good value for a little over ten pounds. The meat was of a good size and cooked well and the fries that accompanied it were crunchy and tasty. Even with a bottle of rose (which was a delicious organic South African), the price was reasonable, the service good and the view nice, even if it was pouring outside. I think we’ll be back and hopefully the weather will be more accommodating next time.
