Ebisu in Weston super Mare is another great spot for authentic Japanese food. What really stands out here compared to Sakura is the pricing and portion sizes. For example, at Ebisu you can get 15 pieces of fresh salmon sashimi for £21. At Sakura, 5 pieces cost £9.50, which means you would pay about £28.50 for the same amount. Ebisu gives you more value if you love sashimi and want generous portions for the price.

The staff here are very friendly and welcoming, which makes dining even more enjoyable. Service feels warm and attentive without being rushed, adding to the relaxed vibe of the place.

That said, both Ebisu and Sakura deliver excellent, authentic Japanese food. The quality is high, the flavors are clean and well prepared, and you can taste the care in every dish. If you want great Japanese food with better portion value, Ebisu is an excellent choice. If you are after beautifully crafted dishes with a slightly more premium touch, Sakura still shines.

Either way, you will leave happy...

Went in for lunch with family and had 3 starters, salmon maki, cucumber maki and karaage which was especially good, very authentic. I enjoyed the kirin beer, although it's not import and it's brewed in Wolverhampton it's still pretty close to the authentic stuff. They missed a trick not selling the Ebisu beer sold in the Tokyo suburb of the same name. The mains we chose were chicken ramen for my son who enjoyed it, the noodles were well cooked and the miso base was good. I would have had traditional pork ramen but it wasn't on the menu. I was pretty surprised. The staff were friendly, kind and patient with our slow choice of dishes. Chicken donburi was good, both my wife and I enjoyed this. Would definitely go again, and it's popular with many coming in and taking away, but it came in at about £80 for 3 starters, 4 mains, 1 beer and a couple of soft drinks. That's pretty pricey for...

Update - been going for two years now, nowhere else nearby comes close. Exceptional and consistent.

Went there last night for dinner, the food's incredible, you can tell it's all prepared and cooked by skilled chefs with fresh ingredients (You gen watch them prepare and cook your food) really well priced and the staff were lovely.

We went for some ebi tempura, chilli fried squid, duck gyoza and a spicy sushi combo which consisted of tuna and salmon sushi rolls with some green teas to wash it down. Everything was amazing, the fresh king prawns and vegetables were incredible with the crispy tempura batter. The squid and shredded chilli was incredible, cooked really well and perfectly seasoned. The duck gyoza was hearty and delicious. The sushi like everything else...

A great place for a Japanese lunch in Weston. We went at midday which was fairly quiet however I'm sure as this place becomes more established that'll change. The food was well priced (see menu below) and good quality with both eat in services and take away available. Take away includes bentos and sushi in the front fridge as well as ruby kit kats and Japanese drinks. We ordered Takoyaki, Duck Gyoza, and a Salmon and a Chicken Bento, all of which was tasty. A highlight was the Miso soup included with the bentos which was incredible. Total for this meal was roughly £26 which is reasonable, especially considering the price for the equivalent in Yo-Ji which would be much more.

Very interesting experience I think £6.50 for a beer is steep personally. Especially in Weston. The service is nice thoughtful and quick the ramen is tasty a very good sauce the sushi would have been nice if the mayo and sauces where removed and think the salad could of been left out. The tempura was lightly battered and crispy very tasty. I left full and happy my disappointment was the sushi as the quality of fish looked very good just the presentation as mentioned and sauces ruined it. Thank you will come again lovely atmosphere.
