This is a review about the Thai restaurant and not the bar/pub:
The starter plate for 2 for £17 was a real disappointment. 2 chicken skewers, 2 prawn tempura, 2 vegetable spring rolls and vegetable tempura. This starter plate unfortunately did not reflect the good reviews from previous guests and was totally overpriced for what it was.
The two main courses that we had tasted very delicious and authentic though. 👌🏻
However, if you order an egg fried rice for £4.50 and the waitress asks you if you would like to have a fried egg on top of it (for which you are, without mentioning it, being charged an extra £4.50), then this is an absolute rip off and not justified at all. (Basically, the restaurant tried to charge £9.00 for one egg fried rice with a fried egg on top of it.)
This left a really sour taste behind when the bill came, and based on this experience we will NOT be back.
Therefore, I can only give 2 stars overall, as trying to rip off customers does not deserve a higher rating and reflects so badly on the...
Read moreThis review is for the food from Seven Sisters Thai which we experienced last night as a takeaway away from the Plume restaurant/pub. We ordered a Red Thai Beef Curry which was £14 and Chicken Pad Thai also at £14, along with a side of Thai crackers £3, price wise it was the same for eating in the restaurant as takeaway, this seems odd as all other places general take off 10 or 20 percent for a takeaway away. Onto the food, overall the mains were tasty and we did enjoy the red curry, however for some reason they are not using flat noodles for the Pad Thai which was a bit disappointing as this is the basis of the dish. The Thai crackers were unfortunately stale and had a strong smelt of cooking oil, they were inedible. We so wanted to have a really good authentic Thai as we live in Hungerford, unfortunately based on this experience we can only rate it as...
Read moreWe stopped off in Hungerford on our canal boat holiday and had a lovely lunch at The Plume. A very warm welcome for the four of us and our dogs, Gertie & Arthur. They are dog friendly and have a decent sized outdoor seating area. Really good service from both the ladies looking after us, very chatty and friendly and they made us feel extremely welcome. Treats for the dogs and we also got to meet 8 month-old Humphrey the Leonberger puppy (who was enormous and very tolerant of our barking dogs who were initially somewhat startled by his size) I highly recommend The Plume, great food and spot on in terms of customer...
