Used to be good here, but gone downhill. The toilets are disgusting and look like they’ve never been deep cleaned. None of the cakes have covers or even a top of the cabinet so the cake is rock hard, got two and both stale and horrible. Came in once when the owner was working and he made my drink with dairy when I have an allergy, then tried to tell me it definitely wasn’t dairy after I watched him make it and I had to take it to another member of staff to change, and he rolled his eyes at me. Allergies are serious and you could actually kill someone - I advise he looks into Natasha’s law. Food slowly gone downhill as well. I took my daughter in for some cake today and like any child she chose the one she wanted (one that looked the biggest) but the servers were adamant we could not choose the cake we wanted to purchase, we had to buy the oldest one. Despite trying to negotiate that we didn't want to buy old cake and that we wanted fresh cake for £4 something she was adamant these are 'company rules'. So, despite happily coming here once to twice a week previously, we left and they lost over £10 business for a cake that certainly would not cost more than £1 to make. Two of us, visited the branch in Boscombe, near Bournemouth, today. We were welcomed by very friendly staff. Great ambience and very comfortable seating. Area appeared very clean and comfortable, with gentle jazz like music in the background. Lovely selection of cakes and sandwiches/ baguettes, with interesting fillings. We only ordered tea and cakes, which were served in good time and presented nicely. So glad we found this little gem. We were tempted to keep it to ourselves, but life is for sharing. Many...
