Fossgate Tap — Restaurant in England

Had dinner here on Saturday… Both of our chicken burgers were black and very overcooked. When we had brought this up to the waitress, she was advised by her manager that it was just the coating. It was not as they both tasted burnt. Plus the company’s instagram picture of these burgers say otherwise.

Waitress was lovely especially as it was a very busy night. However, felt to feel as though it was all in our heads. Charged for two of the replacement meals instead.

Our bill was also quite high especially for drinks. Gin was 8.50 for a double shot and 2.00 for a tonic… It was a lovely gin, but ridiculously overpriced with the mixer on top.

Edit: Just responding to the response below, I do appreciate your response and that the burgers may appear burnt. However, these were quite literally almost black. In addition to this, I really don't think that we should have been made to feel as though it was in our heads or without the manager actually coming to our table.

Because two of us in our party were driving we ordered alcohol free lager. We nearly fell through the floor when we were charged £11.60. What a rip off. My mate rightly suggested to the bar man that the establishment was "robbing b*%@!÷×s". We won't be spending any more money ever here. A place to be avoided. Update: Before leaving my mate asked how much this drink should be and it turned out he had indeed been overcharged. On speaking to another member of staff called Faye behind the bar. She was most helpful and it turned out my mate had been charged for an extra drink. And she was good enough to refund him. What is annoying is that when we were originally served my mate asked if the drinks were over £5 each and he was told by the bar man, yes! Awesome restaurant! Came for a meal the night before a friends wedding with 19 quests eating! The place made us up a table which looked amazing and laid out 4 bottles of prosecco free of charge. Annoyingly I wanted a gyro but the supplier didn't deliver the bread but they were accommodating in allowing my mum to have the meal but on a salad which was amazing I'm told. I had spices beef tacos with spiced beef nachos and my wife had dirty fries and a pizza. The food was incredible and after what was a very acceptable one hour wait for 19 guests, safe to say all guests were very satisfied!
