Have had many a decent breakfast at good vibes cafe but my experience today has ruined that. Amid sea shanty weekend I am aware of how busy establishments can get, however, on walking into the cafe at 11:50 today to get some breakfast and a coffee, we were told to leave immediately as they were not taking any orders at all. Considering there were many free tables in sight, we weren’t even given an option to have a coffee, let alone take one away. I believe there was a better way to handle this situation, for example, letting us know if they would be taking orders at any point in the day, this was not the case, so I am left to assume that there will be no food or coffee in good vibes at all today until they close at 4. Unfortunately on this occasion the vibes were bad.
Edit: thank you for your reply. I understand that reviews like this can be damaging, I myself have worked in numerous small businesses, however I stand by what I said initially. I think that this automated reply has missed many of the points I wrote. I have really enjoyed meals at good vibes in the past. I think the baked beans in particular are delicious. I think today however, a level of stress got the better of a seemingly short staffed crew, and everything I said in my review remains true of the situation. Believe me when I say the vibes weren’t always bad, and this could just be chalked up to the intensity of the sea shanty weekend. I do feel as though our service today could have been better, we could have been informed that there was no food, instead of being told we couldn’t order anything, with one foot in the door. We also could have been offered a coffee or drink instead. I hope this is fair, I do not wish to discredit you as a business. I won’t say...
Read moreA bright cheery smile awaited us on walking in. Such a nice change and something that says somebody is having a good day or just enjoying what they do.
You certainly wouldn't have thought that the place had recently had a change in management.
The name really fits. Unfortunately for us, we had just eaten so we were only having a coffee and a nose around.
The clientele definitely gives the impression that good, wholesome, healthy food was on the menu. Locally sourced and organic where possible.
It all starts with great ingredients. From the origin coffee to the rude health almond milk (just read the label and compare with others to find out why that's a good choice). And, continues with the service team. All of whom were smiling and welcoming.
We soon met Dan who told us his ethos was good food, great service and smiles. It certainly lives up to that claim.
There were good vibes a plenty and the menu also reflected this.
We'll be back to try more than the great origin coffee. And we're looking...
Read moreI’ve been eating and getting coffee here for the last 3-4 years and just thought I wanted to leave a review because this cafe is amazing. The food is amazing , has a really quality homemade feel to it and you can really tell that the chef thinks carefully about each ingredient and component of each dish. A lot of the breakfast dishes are also pretty easy to personalise which is great ! The coffee is really really good, and the staff are always friendly and inviting. The cafe itself is really relaxing and comfortable, and just is the perfect place that I love to stop at when I am tired and really hungry. Please keep doing what you do, I love...
