We visited Curry Baba in Falmouth and found the staff very friendly and helpful, the person at the till was especially welcoming. However, the food was quite average. Despite being labeled as an Indian restaurant, the dishes seemed aimed at those who prefer very mild flavors, and traditional Indian spices were largely absent. We ordered a chicken biryani and a chicken tikka biryani. Both dishes looked exactly the same, and the “tikka” biryani, which was more expensive, had no tikka pieces — just regular biryani chicken. When the chef brought one of the dishes to our table and we asked about it, he insisted they tasted different, but it was clearly not chicken tikka biryani. The restaurant has only two sets of tables and chairs, so it seems primarily set up for takeaway. Overall, the food didn’t meet expectations for authentic Indian cuisine.
