Hadleys on the Boulevard — Restaurant in England

We arrived slightly late and were greeted by very friendly staff. We were shown to our table which was nice and intimate and far enough away from other diners to be completely relaxed and free to chat without the fear of being overheard.

We both had the Coquilles St Jacques which was nicely presented and packed full of flavour and could not be faulted. We were then brought a very nice mango sorbet to cleanse the palate before our main course.

We had both opted for the Honey glazed Roasted Rack of Lamb. Our host advised us that this came pink unless otherwise requested so I had it as it came and my girlfriend had it slightly more done. When our dishes arrived the food was cooked to perfection and was yet another faultless course and was truly delightful. We were given time to relax and chat before the desert menu was presented.

I opted for the Hot Chocolate pudding with Chocolate Sauce and my partner had a Bakewell Tart. Both dishes were once again beautifully presented and delivered on taste and was a perfect way to finish a wonderful meal.

I would certainly recommend this place to anyone. The staff were very friendly and attentive and thought that the service was unparalleled. It was a completely unhurried evening and delivered on food, ambience and service to a very high standard. This place was a nice little surprise. If you select from the main meals it can get quite expensive and the cost can stack up if you have a few drinks here as the beers are sold by the bottle. But it is a nice place with good food and good service. The staff were very friendly and helpful and served us with a smile which is always a nice touch. There is plenty to choose from on the menu and the wine list is extensive, though only the house wine is served by the glass. They have a breakfast, lunch and main menu with sides and desserts on top of that. The decor is quite cosy and homely. I'm not sure how to describe it fully but it was like I was having a meal out in a place which is a mix of a restaurant and my nans house, hence the homely feel. I would definitely go back. We had booked on the day, and we were very lucky to be able to have a table available for 7:30pm. I am not a tardy person and hate people being late, however due to parking we were 8 minutes late, not my best entrance, but the way we were made to feel at ease and that they completely understood, made what could have been a bad beginning, a very positive one. The wonderful warm and friendly service throughout our evening made us feel very comfortable and welcome. The food was to an excellent standard and beautifully presented. I would definitely recommend this fantastic restaurant, especially if you have a special occasion. Wonderful.
