What an amazing place. This is one of the reasons why I use trip advisor and also spend a fair amount of time reviewing places. We were in Weston-Super-Mare enjoying the beach and wanted to visit a really nice chinese restaurant. A search on TripAdvisor showed this place as being excellent and the reviews praise this restaurant greatly.
We drove there and were lucky enough to get a table. The restaurant is very small but beautifully presented. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and whilst they were booked fully we did get a table with a note that we only had 1.5hours to eat, which was fine with us though. All of the waiters/waitresses that we interacted with were brilliant - they were friendly and helpful and gave good advice.
The food was out of this world delicious. It was freshly prepared, the ingredients tasted fresh and set your taste buds alive. We had the spring rolls as well as Crispy sezchuan chicken for starters followed by their Crispy chilli beef and everything was amazing.
Now we live about 55minutes away from his place but both me and my wife agree that if we are looking for a great chinese and want to have a nice meal we will drive here because it is just so worth it....
Read moreWe booked a table here for two, however on arrival we could not enter the restaurant due to there being two sets of stairs. My wife is disabled and cannot do stairs, there is NO DISABLED access to the dining area. These doors are only opened in the summer months we were then told, so if you are not able to do stairs do not bother visiting restaurant, we asked a member of staff on the phone from outside the restaurant, if there was access, he said no, not until the summer. The alleyway access is also the smoking area, so if you do manage the stairs, you will need to walk through a stinky alleyway / stairwell / lobby to access the restaurant. We shall not be returning here, it did us a favour in the end, as we found a brilliant restaurant in Weston, with access and friendly staff. Obviously you can visit here and take your chances, the choice is yours. BUT IT'S 2022 AND THERE IS NO DISABLED ACCESS AND THEY DO NOT CARE. If it was possible to give no stars, we would of. My wife obviously complained to the restaurant, and they emailed her back saying "all of the issues with access are explained on our website" well guess what? They are not,...
Read moreNot sure how after 10 years as a loyal patron I’ve never written a Google review before but here we go… I’ve loved JPs since my (now) husband took me on one of our earliest dates. Now 10 years later we still enjoy it just as much, recently celebrating our anniversary there!
In the intervening years I’ve had more date nights, gone there for girls nights, taken many visiting friends to JPs and celebrated numerous birthdays, including big ones! We’ve always been given the same level of welcome and attentive service whether it’s the two of us or twenty of us.
The food is brilliant, absolutely delicious and generous portions, all freshly cooked! So for example, if I want the black bean with chilli’s on the side so husband can share it’s never a problem. That’s probably one of our go tos, we also love the duck pancakes, emperors parcel, chicken with cashews and the veggie spring rolls are the best I’ve ever eaten!
If I could give 6 stars for everything I...
