KFC Luton - The Mall — Restaurant in England

Summary: Poor customer service. Overpriced and overall underdelivered for the price paid. Best thing about the branch is the seating and tables.

Two times in a row, staff had failed to provide the food and drinks ordered. The first time they had only given me one drink instead of two and they had not provided the chips that I had ordered leading me to subsequently reminding them of their failure of delivering the food promised albeit in an agitated mood following this. The second time (27/06/2018) i was intially provided with 2 drinks instead of the 3 ordered although it was soon realised and amended however it’s the fact that the order was misplaced irritated me despite the correction. Upon initially walking in I witness the manager (Johnny) shouting at a staff member at the till which created the impression that staff aren’t treated correctly at this KFC branch and spoken to rudely by management, I also witnessed him speaking rudely to customers in front of me, I’m surprised the customers did not retaliate. Also on that date (27/06/2018) the lady at the till hadn’t even listened correctly to what I had even ordered - I ordered two Streetwise All Stars Wrap meal and I was only given two wraps... also a humorous joke was made by a mate I was present with which was actually quite funny for what was said yet she giggled in such a forced manner like she was programmed on her induction day to maintain a neutral face and deliver an upsetting service... I was lead to assume that customers pay for both the food AND the service, especially for such a reputable food chain. One of the management (I believe to be the supervisor) did try to amend this following me complaining and agreed to provide the completed meal if I pay extra and she’d give me the rest of the meal for free - I’m glad this was resolved although it appears she’s the only one that actually tries to maintain the smooth running of the branch.

The food at KFC is overpriced as it is, the only factors that make up for this is the seating and the brand. Any other food chain would not get away with such poor treatment of their customers. My mood was ruined upon witnessing their service!

If there's one place that always hits the spot when you're hungry and slightly fed up with life, it's KFC. I recently visited the branch near me, and even though I've been there about a billion times, it somehow still delivers that comfort-food magic every single time.

🍗 The Food – 10/10, no debate Let's start with the obvious: the chicken. Crispy, juicy, hot — it’s like they’ve mastered the science of crunch. Whether you're going for a classic bucket, a Zinger Burger, or just snacking on Popcorn Chicken, the flavour never misses. It’s got that perfect mix of spices that makes your mouth go, “yep, this is it.”

The fries were fresh and golden (none of that sad, cold stuff you sometimes get from other places), and the gravy? Elite. Like, I would drink it straight if I had no shame. Even the coleslaw slapped.

Oh, and don’t get me started on the Krushers (when they’re available — bring them back full-time PLEASE KFC 😩). So good, it’s almost unfair.

🛎️ Customer Service – Friendly & Fast The staff were actually super chill. They were polite, handled a big line quickly, and got everyone’s order right (rare these days). One of them even smiled and asked if I wanted sauce options instead of just throwing in ketchup, which might sound small — but it makes a difference.

Even when it got a bit busy, they didn’t rush people or get annoyed. The place was clean, the seating was tidy, and my food came out hot and fast, which is a major win.

🏠 Atmosphere – Cozy Chaos (in a good way) KFC isn’t fancy, and it’s not trying to be — it’s just real. Warm lights, the smell of fried chicken floating through the air, families chatting, kids hyped up over chips. It’s casual and comfy, and there’s something nice about knowing exactly what you’re gonna get every time you walk in.

Final Thoughts: KFC never disappoints. It’s the kind of place you can count on when your plans get canceled, your siblings annoy you, or you just need food that makes you feel better instantly. Great food, solid service, and a place that understands the assignment.

Zero star. Worst customer service, discrimination against whites?, as much as I can see it it is one of the place in town that is not much willing to apply whites, i could see only 1 white lady working there in that chaos today who was actually "fighting" other colleagues behind the desk. She was very upset.. I dont wonder about it. I thought I sat in there and relax a little bit enjoying nice kfc food. Instead of it I was just getting angry with that chaos and shouting, dirty tables even after cleaning, half of the place was full with shouting children... why dont they keep up a play space for them around there??? I ordered a bucket through the screen, but there was no chips or drink to it, and i found only the lack of information about it. I understood there were strips, and wings etc served to it, but there were only some big chicken pieces i dont like, and it had a horrible price of 15 pounds. Moreover they didnt add tissues or there were no chance to clean your fingers, and of course kfc is famous for eating with fingers.Consequently I couldnt eat it in ... I think it was so horribble and upsetting. The guy shouted the numbers arrogantly, there was no tissue outside as well, and when I went to the desk they were just quarreling and the couldnt pay attention to customers. I couldnt left my stuff unattended in such a place, so it was extreme difficult to get some tissues, and no way to clean hand, finally I left being very upset.
